I am at Chapter 6. (view spoiler)[ I am a bit bored by the long descriptive paragraphs with only a few dialogues. Though I am not a great fan of paranormal elements, the suspense over the murderer's identity made this an interesting read so far. (hide spoiler)]

I enjoy the colorful characters. (view spoiler)[ The book is easy to read, but it also seems basic somehow. I can't put my finger on why. Everything just moves too easily without a realistic cause and effect build to the story. It feels forced to me. I have no right to criticize. I could not even write a 2-star short story, but it is just a little too smooth.
What I do like are the internal dialogues from the murderer's perspective without giving him away. I also am not a great fan of paranormal elements but agree that the suspense over the murderer's identity made the read more interesting. It reminds me of a cross between Wild Heart and I Adored a Lord. (hide spoiler)]

I finished reading. Agree with all comments by Priya and Ally.

I will not continue the series.
