I'm starting it tomorrow. And yep. A series. One other nom was a series too. I think this is only a trilogy though.
It'll be ok. ;)
Trinity needs to read this with us bc that was her nomination .. poke. If you get a min. Try.

Please keep in mind, this group tries its best to appease ALL and cover ALL aspects of the genre. That's why I chose to do a Classic and a Modern reading. Modern writers still stick with basic themes of the genre, but present it in new and interesting ways. Vampires, expecially of the Lestat variety, are a staple within the genre. Horror writers have tried to hang onto the atmospheric and generally creepy aspects of those who came before them. Thriller writers are now trying to play on those old themes. While the "Gothic" tilte itself may be a term to encompass an era, we shouldn’t toss aside new works that try to present these themes in a new way.
Yep and no one is really helping with those classic nominations. We could use some help with those.
I started on this today and so far my thoughts are positive. Give it a chance ppl.
Anyone want that discuss ? Come on ...

Hanging in there with this. Some parts; you are like okay NOW where is Cronin taking me but now it's starting to be cohesive again now and make sense. Hang in there. Someone say they are reading too. Please ? I'm in the three hundreds. Just keep going.
In the four hundreds now. I was confused for a bit. I just want to see how it turns out. I'm determined.
My best friend said this was one of the best books she's ever read. Unfortunatly I have not been able to start it. I will as soon as I can.
I did say something about some of the chars in my review. Some of them got no time and I felt needed more and I said not to get attached to anyone bc anyone could die. So it's just a matter of preference. It just grew on me. And it's not over I did get to the end and I'm like argh.. now I have to know what happened.
Thanks for trying anyway. That's what this is all about.

I found it at the library either in hard copy or snook. That's how I read the others. Thing is.. the book does shift bc the world shifts, you just hang on and keep going. I can hardly wait until the third.
A lot happens and it does come to some sort of ending in one novel but you can't really know in just the one. You have to read all three. They are all really a part of each other. Everything happens and is told for a reason having to do with the past, or something going on in the present or something that will happen in the future. I was really going to toss in the towel for a bit, but I thought, no, this is just another shift in the story.
It really is almost like the entire story tells its self backwards. That is saying as much as I can without spoilers. I should put this on for a review of that because, I feel, at present, it's the best I can do. I will say that so far it has been worth it and that each book has come to some kind of conclusion. You just know that lots of things are left open and undone and you may not know what happens to certain important ppl in the building of the world, the eventual outcome, etc.
You will find that a lot of things we expect to go forwards, tend to go backwards, or back and forth in these three books. It just took me a while to get used to it. When I did, I said I wasn't stopping until the end.

Okay, fully into this read now. I know I am late on my own nomination (bad MOD). I am loving the writing style! I am happy with this pick. I know it was controversial but I have purchased book three (already owned book two). I like the many characters presented thus far. I like that we are given so much insight into each one!
The second is good and the third book of the Passage too so far. I'm fully convinced you have to read all three to really get it.
My progress with this one is slow going. I haven't had much time to just sit down and read, have been listening to audio books and reading e-books (this is a beast to lug around) but I am enjoying it when I get some time to read it.
Ok, I believe I have reached the part so many struggled through. The cabin part was probably the most boring section of a book I have ever read. After reading it, I had to set to book aside and walk away. I feel like the editor should have told him to condense that section. Still plan to finish it but I need a moment to get over my frustration with the book.
So, I return, only to have sick kick me all over. Two weeks and this crap won't go away. WTH life...
I found the last one while I have been away, so I don’t have to keep checking it out. It was two dollars Canadian or something.
Sorry you have been ill. That totally sucks. I have been sick also for most of my time in Canada. Hugs! Feel better soon.

It is flu season. I have used it to my advantage to read. I got a kindle for Christmas from my husband. I was running out of room on my Nook bc it had both kindle and nook books.
On topic ... I am determined to finish this series. The book I found was a hard cover version of the last book in the Passage series. They really are good if you stick with them. :)

I am finally feeling human again. Flu and Upper Resp. Infection. Whew... Kinda thought I might keel over at one point.
Trinity;People are dying everywhere from this awful flu. I don't get the flu shots ( bad reactions), I am trying to avoid too many public places. You and Shaina both had the flu---poor kids!!!
Oh, I had the flu shot! Yep! I think I got pneumonia. It was lovely. Don’t try it. It’s everywhere here now. Church members galore. Anyway, glad I got lots of books for Christmas and a kindle from my awesome husband. :) yes. Everyone please take care!
Back on topic, I have started where I left of, only to be thrown into a completely different story...
Can you reveal what part or page you are around ?
The Twelve went by really fast for me, as did the very last of the Passage.

It's the part immediatly after the camping part. I'm not 100% sure what is going on to tell you the truth.
Ohhh I think I know where you are. It’ll become clear. I felt the same. It’s after that explosion or what not isn’t it and you aren’t sure who is alive? Just keep going. I was messed up too. lol.
