Around the World in 80 Books discussion

Post your nominations here for the June group reads. A significant portion of the book must be set in the featured location. We will be reading books set in Angola, the Bretagne (Brittany) region of France, and East India. Here are our group lists to get you started:

For Angola, The Land at the End of the World by António Lobo Antunes has been on my radar for a while, and looks like it would have great insights into the war.

That said, one of Ondjaki's books, such as Good Morning Comrades or Granma Nineteen and the Soviet's Secret or The Whistler, looks likes a good choice for a book that is entertaining and not so heavy.

For Angola, I nominate Jaime Bunda, Secret Agent: Story of Various Mysteries by Pepetela.

For East India, I nominate Before We Visit the Goddess by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

For Angola, I nominate A General Theory of Oblivion by José Eduardo Agualusa.

For East India, I nominate The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri.

I am unable to use The World We Found, since it is set in West India. We can add it for our August poll for West India.
