Description It’s not easy being life’s own personal joke, but Josette Landry has made an unstable peace with the beast. Centuries ago, Cadegan sold his soul for vengeance against the betrayer who cursed him. Forced against his will to do good, he hates everything in life. All he wants is a way out. But for the damned there is only eternal suffering. And yet there is something about Josette that intrigues him as much as it irritates and frustrates him. Something he can’t seem to fight, and the last time he felt this way about a woman, it cost him his soul.
He knows he has to stay away from her, but the evil her friends unleashed is hellbent on consuming her soul. Something he cannot allow. If one more innocent is taken, he will be sent back to an unimaginable prison that makes his current hell look like paradise. But how can he keep her safe when his being with her is the greatest threat of all?

Which novella connects to SON? A few of them, it has been a while since I read, but I don't remember there being anything about these characters in HOTRS. Did I miss a clue? (Always possible! :))
Well we don't know yet but SK leaves tidbits everywhere. So I assume that all of the books in the Dark-Hunter universe connect in some way, no matter how big or small. Until we read SON, we don't know if Dark Bites will be relevant but better to read it then miss out

My guess would be Sunshine's grandmother. Cause in reading Ren's story it totally sounded like there was no familial connection with Sunshine's cousin to her Goddess granny. And since he is a first cousin to Sunshine that means her mom had a sibling or something somewhere she didn't know about that had some offspring. And ol' Kateri's peeps could have been married into the family maybe.
Lol you and I are on the same wavelength. I was definitely thinking it was Sunshine's grandmother, Morrigan. So Cade has a celtic background.
Mhmm,and given how many kids Gods and Goddesses could have over the course of a lifetime, I definitely am team Morrigan for sure.
I wonder who is the parental that Thorn and Cade share. Is it through the devil or someone else!?
Hmm, could most likely be through the Devil. I mean given how hard Thorn is about not wanting to following down daddy dearest's path he had in store for him. But would be interesting if it was the mom. Be good twist of things, to see another crazy mama in the story. Definitely no more Leto though. I swear I wanted to kill her and Apollo all over again after reading House of the Rising Son.
It could be the devil. It would explain why he was abandoned and never looked after by family. Momma discovers she's pregnant with Luficer's baby and is horrified, gets rid of him.

I love the fact that Lucifer is Thorns papa, I hope their connection is via Lucifer i've been hoping he makes an appearance since DH book 1.

I don't know if it's a mistake or not but a bunch of characters from her Avalon series are suppose to be crossing over in this book.

Thorn gave her a look of supreme admiration. “You really are the bravest woman I’ve ever known.”
Jo frowned at him. “Why do I think there’s a veiled insult in that statement?”
His gaze slid to the car. “How long have you driven this refugee from hell?”
“Speaking from experience?”
“Speaking my mind.”
She scoffed at his dry tone. “Hey, don’t knock it. It still runs. Most of the time, and even after I turn it off.”

In the epilogue of Styxx where Azura and Noir talk about Beth and Nick being part of a prophecy, do you thik we will see more of that in SON?**Cadegan's worst enimy is Noir....?
We might since Cadegan deals with Noir and his minions
I think the prophecy just consisted of who had the balance of power on their side. And it officially tipped in their favor with Rezar/Set and Beth being awakened and Nick coming into more of his Malachai powers
Nick and Thorn are my favorite characters ever and im sure Cade will be up there soon. To have all three in this book will be epic!!!
Very epic. I wonder if Thorn and Cade are close. Too many of these characters have bad blood with relatives. I hope they're friendly to each other and not tolerated family members. It makes me sad when siblings are against each other
