This courtyard is in the heart if the Institute. This is normally the place where students study, eat lunch, or just sit and enjoy the scene. Trees and flowers decorate the courtyard with immense beauty. Sit on a bench, hangout in a tree, do whatever you like, and enjoy the view.

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) ((okay! I'll post first then!))

Alven walked around the courtyard, before settling on the nearest bench. He was wearing his favorite checkered shorts, and a neon orange hoody that had a smiley printed on it. Frankly, his uncle almost shouted at him for wearing blatantly weird clothes for a shadow hunter, but the man knew there was no way Alven was going to wear pants, or black shirts.

Lissa finally found the space she was looking for to revise some subjects, and that was in the flowering courtyard. She, being the person she was, went over to a strange-looking student that was clad in neon clothing. She sat down next to him, smiling and trying to be social yet not too social. "Hi, um do you mind if I sit here? My name's Elissa, but please, do call me Lissa."

((Alven is in year 4 I presume?))

Rose was walking along, carrying books that she was going to revise, although she doubted that would happen. She would end up getting distracted and completely forget her purpose for coming. She saw Lissa and beamed, yes there was her distraction. She walked over, only to catch sight of some boy with in a neon hoody, she frowned obviously not impressed. She was in shadowhunter black, like she should be. "Lissa." She said, looking at the boy next to her, "who is this?" She said, almost disapprovingly.

message 6: by ĸoмoreвι (last edited Jun 11, 2014 01:21AM) (new)

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) Alven was suprised that the girl who went over to them didn't add 'thing' on her question. Like, maybe she would have sounded a lot more interesting if she said, 'who is this thing?'. He simply grinned at her, loving the fact that she was behaving a bit hostile. He loves people who doesn't like him. "My name's Alven, you don't mind me being here do you?" Because he was so not going to go away.

"Rose." Lissa said disapprovingly, then she turned back to face Alven. "It's nice to meet you," she said, "it's absolutely fine that you're sitting here, after all, you were here first." Typical Rose. Always so protective, always so warning. She shuffled over slightly and patted the seat next to her. "Come sit here Rose."

message 8: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 269 comments Mod
Rose caught Lissa's disapproving look and mustered up a fake smile for him, "Not at all Alven." She said, although it was obvious in her tone that she didn't like him. She gave Lissa a worried look, it was in Lissa's nature to be kind to everyone. She went to sit down though, being very cautious, she didn't know why, she just got a bad vibe from the boy in the neon orange jacket. "How are you?" She asked directing her question more toward Lissa.

message 9: by ĸoмoreвι (new)

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) "Well isn't this lovely." Alven said aloud, "I'm so lucky I sat here." He added, giving Rose a ten-second smirk before he got back to grinning. They were tight friends, he bets, and he just loves getting into the circle of friends. There was just something about friendship that he really really is interested in. "Anyway, I hope you don't mind me Lissa. Seems like your friend doesn't want me, I hope you don't find me being here as awkward at all."He told the kinder girl with a friendly grin. "Don't worry. I'm a good guy."

message 10: by Jada (new)

Jada (siriusly_jada) | 298 comments Mod
Lissa laughed. "Rose, you know I'm fine, and if I wasn't, you'd know." She pulled down her sleeve of her black tank to reveal a parabatai rune on her shoulder. Lissa waved off Rose's direct looks of worry, there wasn't anything to worry about. Was there? As if reading her mind, she knew Rose was uneasy around this Alven guy. She opened up her battered copy of the Shadowhunter's Codex, and flipped it to demonologie. "I'm sure you are a good guy, Alven. So, do you like the Academy here?"

message 11: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 269 comments Mod
Rose sent this Alven guy a dirty look as he smirked at her, that confirmed it, she did not like this guy. She scoffed when he said that she didn't like her, "Ooh, stating the obvious now are we?" She smirked, "And Lissa friend has a name, Rose" She smiled at Lissa, "Its still polite to ask, we don't want to seem stalkerish do we?" She laughed. She crossed her arms around her Chest, staring down the Alven guy as Lissa talked to him. If she felt she didn't like someone, then she was passionate about it.

message 12: by ĸoмoreвι (new)

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) Alven kept his grin up. Rose was interesting! Ha. Finally, after years of being around shadow hunters he finally found someone as interesting as the demons he met. He looked at Lissa, turning to answer her conversational question."I like the academy very much. It's like some kind of second home, since I'm usually around here somewhere." Or might be under your bed ,sweetie. "And sorry Rose" He apologized, tempted to call her Rosie, "I was just trying to be friendly with your friend Lissa, which is pretty much normal." He stated, loving the stare-down Rose was giving him. Ah, he just can't resist good people.

Lissa eyed Rose and Alven's little "showdown" conversation they were having. This was going to get awkward. "Um, okay then. Uh, Rose, honey, I think you were meant to be coming out to read? Like to catch up on subjects?" She tried to break the tension, but obviously failed, probably making things worse with Alven's attitude hanging around them like petrol smells at a gas station. "Rose," she said gently, placing a hand on her arm that was tightened around her chest, "we're back here on Earth now!" She said in a sing-song voice.

message 15: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 269 comments Mod
Rose scoffed, "Your not normal." She said, it was a pretty rude assumption to make considering the fact she met him all of 5 minutes ago. "No, I didn't." She kept her eyes on Alven, "I was just carrying my books." She lied. She knew it was hopeless though, Lissa knew when she was lying. Rose turned her eyes to Lissa when she started singing, she smiled.

message 16: by ĸoмoreвι (new)

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) "I will take that as a compliment." Alven said, smiling at Lissa. She was amusing. They were both interesting! "I mean, I do try to wear black"Lies "as much as you guys do, but nah, it doesn't work out for me. I'll look younger if I wear black since it kinda contradicts my color. Plus, I love neon and I hate pants" He stated, making it out like he took the 'your not normal' comment as something connected to his attire- and not his psychological status. Haha. They were both 'not normal'.

"Rose!" Lissa exclaimed when she commented on Alven's normality. "I'm sorry, just ignore her. She's not...exactly herself today." She turned back to Rose, eyes glinting with plead. "Yes, you were coming out to read. Rose does not carry her books out for nothing." She said, her voice hinting that her tone was to sit down and shut up. She tried to concentrate again, but her mind flicked back to the strange moments that she'd just had - neon clothing, stalkers, normality.....

message 18: by Olivia (last edited Jun 11, 2014 06:27PM) (new)

"You shouldn't." Rose said, seriously possessing hatred toward Alven. "Oh, it's not just that you don't look like a shadowhunter, your just plain... Not normal." Rose said, her tone never wavering. Rose's head jerked abruptly toward Lissa as she screamed at her, not something that happened often. "I am myself." She said under her breath. Although she shut up, opening her book. She was worried Lissa was pissed at her,

message 19: by ĸoмoreвι (new)

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) "I'd love to give you evidence of me not being plain but I don't really do stuff like that. Like I said, I'm a good normal-ish shadow hunter." Alven reasoned, extremely interested and amused by Rose' actions. It was like the girl had really really sharp sense. "This is a good day." He said out loud, although the two might kinda disagree.

((Okay I'mma be vanishing for the day. Bye people.))

Lissa turned away from Rose; she was normally protective but not in this way. She sensed that it was a type of warning, maybe she got a bad vibe from this Alven. She could guess why, he wasn't your typical Shadowhunter. "I'm sorry, I understand," she whispered under her breath, hoping she would understand.

message 22: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 269 comments Mod
"I have all the evidence I need of you being a phsyco. And christ, whats so good about it." Her eyes bore into him, her tone daring. Despite Lissa's protests she could not stay quiet. She gave a small sigh of relief when Lissa said she understood, she took that as her way of saying she wasnt pissed, Rose wouldnt know what to do with herself.

message 23: by ĸoмoreвι (new)

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) Alven couldn't help but laugh at the situation of the two. It was so funny that they both hate him, but they won't leave or make him leave because he got there first. He grinned at Rose, loving her braveness. "I'm not psychotic, not really. I mean if I was I'd be doing something else rather than being a pain to you, Rose dear." He clicked his tongue, amused at the two. Then he turned to Lissa. Sweet Lissa who make everything much more interesting. "At least you behave like a normal person, Lissa. I like your name by the way." He complimented with a wink.

message 24: by Jada (new)

Jada (siriusly_jada) | 298 comments Mod
Lissa rolled her eyes at Rose, she gave up completely on the idea that she could make her not be rude and shut up. She narrowed her eyes at Alven; she hated her real name. "Which name do you mean; Lissa or Elissa?" She didn't smile or wink back, instead she shot him a frosty stare.

message 25: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 269 comments Mod
"Ooh, so your well aware your just a pain in the ass, and don't you even dare call me dear, I could destroy you without even a second thought." Rose's tone was strong and daring, her words sharp. She didn't sound awfully angry though, she hadn't completely lost that temper of hers yet. "Are you saying I'm not normal. Because I'll have you know Im a hindered times more normal than you'll ever be." She looked at Lissa as she rolled her eyes, giving her a mildly apologetic look, she wasn't backing down. When Lissa gave him her stare, she smiled in satisfaction, Lissa was finally realising that this guy was not good.

message 26: by ĸoмoreвι (new)

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) "I like Lissa more, no offense." Alven stated his answer, not minding the cold stare he was getting. There was no way he was going to get intimidated. The more they get angry at him, the happier he gets. He turned to the angrier girl, his friendly face never wavering. "You can't destroy something that you can't even understand, dear, ever .I'll have you know that I'm very much normal than you. I'm friendly to everyone, and I don't just accuse people that I just met." He said, his grin still up as if the two girls weren't a tiny bit angry at him.

Lissa listened intently, he still hadn't answered her question. "Uhm, okay, thanks?" She decided to let it go, and took in a deep breath and told herself mentally to go with the flow, shut up and ignore everyone, or, be like Rose and satisfy Alven even more, all at the same time. She decided to go with option one and two, considering what she had been previously doing. But the wave of annoyance snapped Lissa back to reality, and she raised her hand to slap both of them. She stopped half way, and brought them down in calming-meditation style. Okay, she was going insane and she knew it. Lissa sat up abruptly and strode-ran over to the tree that was behind the bench they were sitting on, and scaled it in a flash. She leaned up against the trunk, breathing in deeply and grateful for the getaway.

Rose reached for her blade at her waist, fury written all over her face. "I am completely sane. There is nothing wrong with me it's, you! I am not dear, I can easily hurt you." She pulled her blade out, but then caught Lissa in the corner of her eye, going to slap them. When she placed her arm down and ran toward the tree, she was snapped back to her normal self, well she was always normal but... Not angry self. She kind of stood there for a second staring at Alven, her flace blank. "Shit." She said, putting her blade back into her waist and running after Lissa. She had just realised how stupid she was. "Liss." She called up to her. She swung her way up to the tree, her eye on Alven. "I'm... I'm so sorry. I can't believe what I did." She put her hand on Lissa's shoulder.

ĸoмoreвι (ISEEYOU) Alven couldn't help but drop his grin at the sudden display of affection, a dizzying wave of irritation overwhelming him for a few seconds. He just hated seeing pathetic people. He held his irritation though and just kept his face blank, deciding that he was just getting too influenced by some demons he hangs around with. He knew it must be weird for someone normally smiling and grinning to just suddenly lose all emotions. But he couldn't help it, they were just pathetic. "I think I'm going to go." He said, hands in his pockets, clenching his fist. There was nothing he hates more than seeing people display affection...well, except wearing pants. He hates pants more.

Lissa snapped out of whatever she was thinking about, pushing away Rose's hand forcefully and angrily. "No, I'm not okay, Rose! Every time someone you don't like comes across, shit happens! You starts fights, be all mighty and up there, when there's just no need to! Why, Rose? Why, can't you just act normal? Why, do you just have to turn a friendly conversation into a twisted, biased thing!" She breathed in heavily, exhausted from her outrage. She turned away, just catching Alven deciding whether or not he were to leave. She reached out to another branch and swung onto another one higher. "And I realised that Alven wasn't exactly a very normal person, I get it. But couldn't you see through him? Couldn't you see he liked us being wound up? Why couldn't you have just ignored him?" Tears sprang from her eyes, threatening to spill over, but she pushed them away and replaced them with anger. She wasn't one to cry. She hated crying.

((I'm sorry but I can't but help but point out this is a very Alec, Jace situation from city of heavenly fire. XD))
Rose watched Alven leave but said not a word. Rose felt like a blow had been struck when Lissa pushed her hand away. She listened to her, and as she had feared Lissa was really angry with her, and Rose felt as if she had been beat up before being drowned. "Lissa... I'm sorry." She said knowing that those simple words wouldn't make things better this time. "I'm not like you Liss." Rose said. "You're amazing, you can stop yourself but I can't. I know shit happens when I don't like people, but that's me and there's nothing I can do about that. I'm sorry Lissa but when we exchanged runes that's what you signed up for- me." She fingered her parbatai rune her heart racing. "Lissa, I'm trying, I'm trying to be perfect, like you, but I can't. Just like you have a kind heart and can't be rude to people like Alven, I'm not afraid to speak my mind. I know most of the time I speak before I think but I can try fix it. Please, forgive me Lissa." She ran her hand through her hair, desperately wanting to comfort Lissa.

Jada (siriusly_jada) | 298 comments Mod
Lissa tilted her head down, her bronze curls showering in front of her face. She leapt up on top of the branch Rose was sitting on, looking down at her. "But I'm not perfect Rose. A person like you should know that. Everyone will have their flaws. Every rose will have its thorns." She said, looking up through the leaves of the tree and into the clear blue sky. The sun illuminated her hair, making it seem redder than ever. "You don't have to be me. In fact, you shouldn't be me. You can make your own ways of dealing with this type of stuff using what you're good with." She perched up on the branch in a crouched position. "And for what it's worth, I just want you to know that I love you and I always have, parabatai." And then she jumped off the tree, rolling onto the ground and calmly walked back to her dorm.

Rose looked up at lissa, guilt gnawing away at her. She couldn't believe how stupid she was, she knew Lissa hated her losing it, why couldn't she control herself. "Well Rose Goldwell, she is an incredibly prickly Rose." She said with a sigh. "I know Liss," she said, "Like always you are right." Lissa was what kept her Sane, a life without her wasn't a life at all. "I love you too Liss, just know i'm sorry." She leapt off after Lissa, hurrying after her. "Just answer this, are you pissed at me?"

message 36: by Jada (new)

Jada (siriusly_jada) | 298 comments Mod
Lissa looked back for just a second, her jade-green eyes sparkling in the sunlight. "Answer this. Why should I be?" A small smile played on her lips, and she disappeared through the halls, still holding her books to her chest.

Olivia | 269 comments Mod
Rose just stood there as Lissa walked off. Despite the fact that she was her parbatai, she sometimes had no idea what she was saying. She walked off, her mind spinning, why should she be? She went towards the dorms, in need of a rest.

message 38: by Ella (new)

Ella | 55 comments Ella sat high above the courtyard on a tree limb reading a heavy novel. Students roamed the courtyard below, gossiping or studying. Ignoring them, she lifted her book higher, glad at least for the moment for her incredible arm strength. Fingering her sapphire ring on her finger, she thought of the conversation she had overheard in the music studio. Rose was just being Rose but the new boy Cristian, Ella didn't know what to make of him. He seemed so funny and laid back but from the rumors she had heard he should have been antisocial and angry even. Shaking her head in confusion, she immersed herself in he history of the London Institute.

Christian strode into the courtyard, resting against the trunk of a tree. He looked up and saw a girl sitting up in high in the branches. "Hey," he called, "what are you doing up there?" He asked, but it was clear what she was doing. Holding up a book can only ever mean you're reading.

"Alright, Just Ella," Christian smirked, "you still haven't told me what you're doing up in the tree," he said, amused. He realised he was still leaning against the tree, so he turned so that he wasn't looking sideways but straight towards her.

message 44: by Ella (new)

Ella | 55 comments He stared straight into her eyes and Ella instantly froze. Only HE had that piercing gaze, and she still remembered that day, the blood rushing in her ears, clutching what was left of her mother, sobbing into her, until she was taken away, away from her.
