   Spoilers Ahead
Spoilers AheadWillow by Julia Hoban is a very emotional, and moving book. How can you not feel something when reading it? Even if you've never gone through any sort of self-harm, depression, or loss of a loved one, everyone should feel something while reading this. It was well written, and I personally connected with the main character, as I've been through some similar situations. Self-harm is not something to take lightly, neither is mental-illness.
Willow, throughout the book, goes through a rollercoaster of events, and situations. She's stronger than she thinks, and is very protective of others even if she can't see it. Guy, a boy that show's up in her life, is her savior, her anchor, everything she needs to begin her life anew after the tragic loss of her parents. She and her brother are at war with one another it seems throughout the book, in the end though they connect once again.
I would recommend this to anyone that has struggled with any type of self-harm, loss, depression, and others that are looking for something meaningful to read. Is it an easy book? Definitely not, but it does make you think, and become emotional.
