I feel so terrible! I started this group with Kelly with intentions to be active and to grow as readers.

I have failed in both.

the last 6 months, I got a job to earn money for books and coffee (the two things that keep me alive) and so between working 25 hour weeks with classes at night, I lost sight of keeping this group alive.

To improve, I'd really appreciate if all of you guys would suggest ideas for this group? Should we do group reading? or maybe this is a discussion group? Maybe polls? Please feel free to let me know.

I know for certain in the summer I will be extremely active. For now, I'll pop on when I can.

Sorry again,
Raquel aka Kelli

Bec (_becandbooks) Can completely relate to the books and coffee. Also relating to getting super behind with life and hobbies.

I just turned up and I know you posted this in April but my current group has become mostly inactive and I'm looking for somewhere else that isn't too big and overrun to hang out.

Apologies for the long-ass post:

I personally vote some easy and fun games to get people active without diving straight into full-on discussions.

If mods are active we can start mods vs members? (Game starts at 500. Every time a mod posts the number goes up by one [501] every time a member posts the number goes down by one [499]. If the number reaches 0 members win, if it reaches 1000 mods win)

Or something like 'what happens next'. (OP posts a scenario. Next person has to say what would happen and then post a new scenario. Example: "OP: The person below me is walking through an abandoned building when they run into Ron Weasley" "Next poster: To save myself from fainting or having a fit, I run screaming in the opposite direction. The person below me picks up a pinecone.")

Group reading is always fun - you have to find a good niche that everyone can join in on (e.g. new releases are sometimes unavailable for readers).

Maybe even discussion posts? There is a lot happening in the book world with bloggers, international ARCs, discussion on diverse lit and NA lit.

Wow, thanks so much for all the suggestions, Becca! I definitely think some mods v.s. Members games would be a ton of fun, and great way to get to know everyone as well. I also love the idea of having some discussion topics. I’ll definitely start some new topics within the next day or two!
