I really enjoyed reading Celtic Evil and was wondering where your inspiration came from for the Fitzgerald brothers and their unique family history.

Actually, Roarke was created for an entirely different type of story all together. He was created as an action character but still had his Irish roots though he was American. Then I was watching PBS one night and came across this group, Celtic Thunder and thought..."hmmm, five brothers (yes, I do normally write characters in sets of five) who used to sing together until something happened.
So first I created four brothers for Roarke(which took several weeks since I had to find just the right descriptions, personalities and inner images for them) and then one night while in bed my action story took a paranormal detour when the story began taking place in my head about how their parents died, how they were seperated and it went from there.
Figuring the personalities involved was something else.
I'm not sure if that's considered inspiration or not. If I can get a character to feel real to me they usually end up telling the story...or changing it in some cases.
