According to stephen kings official and verified twitter account mr. Mercedes is the first in a trilogy continuing with FINDERS KEEPERS to be published in 2015

I just saw it and was not surprised simply due to the ending of Mr Mercedes.

I am so excited!!!!!!!!

I read recently on Kings FB page that he intends to continue on with stories based upon characters in Mr. Mercedes.

I must admit he did pull a "bone head" move. Cheerfully announcing the trilogy and the fate of three characters. Fortunately I had already finished it, but I can't fault him, he was excited about it and that's always a good thing for his writing. I sure am glad he's enjoying his forrays into Mystery writing. Both Joyland and Mr. Mercedes have been amoung the best stuff he's written in years.

Ahhh...ok, I feel better. I just finished Mr. Mercedes and was DISAPPOINTED with the ending.

Pre ordered, can't wait for it to arrive.

Maybe you would have been less disappointed if you had known there was a third one coming. I felt the ending of Finders Kepers gave us a hint as to the general direction of the third part of the trilogy. Originally titled "The Suicide Prince", it's now called "End of Watch".
