Kapil Bhaskar (kapilkumarbhaskar) | 4 comments Hi, Can anyone tell how can I increase the reach of my book giveaway?

Also, How can I add my into proper genres and also can list in new releases and hot releases?

Jill Anderson | 1 comments I made up an informational social media post through Canva.com and used that to promote my book giveaway on Facebook and twitter. It seems to have helped.

There are many ways to promote your Goodreads giveaways – on the site we'd suggest linking to it in your blog or a general status update. Other, external, ways of promoting your giveaway include sharing it on your other social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook.

Regarding genres, on Goodreads a book's genre is determined solely by the way Goodreads users shelve the book. If many users shelve the book as "historical fiction," it appears on the "historical fiction" genre page, and so on.

The "New Releases" list is determined algorithmically. In order to qualify, books must have the publication date set to the specific month and receive a certain number of ratings and shelvings. The actual number of books listed depends on the genre in question and a number of other factors.

Similarly, our decisions about what to include in the New Releases Newsletter are based on activity around titles on the site. For example, we look at how members have shelved the book to determine the book's genre, how many people have added it to their Want to Read shelf, and how many people have rated the book. We take the top few from each of our selected genres, and generally those are the titles we include in our newsletter.

Feel welcome to reach out with any further questions!

Tad Texer | 9 comments check out @rich20something on Instagram....he appears to be doing quite well. If you don't like to be on video, running an ad with a giveaway makes good common sense though I have not practiced it myself before. I'd love to hear about your results if you choose that route.

Karl Braungart | 49 comments It certainly would be interesting and helpful to a self-published author like me to find out about video/giveaway marketing. Thank you Patricia for asking the question. Thank you Tad for your comments.

Tad Texer | 9 comments http://okdork.com - check out Noah Kagan, Karl. He's got a great podcast too. Depending upon your target market, IG or YouTube is a good bet ;)

Everything helps! As an added bonus it's possible to link to your giveaway in your ad, which could draw more entrants.

Kapil Bhaskar (kapilkumarbhaskar) | 4 comments Thanks all for your inputs Patricia, Jackyln, Karl and Tad.
