i've been reading a few every now and then. i enjoyed the shadowunters so it's holding me over until the new book. I love that we get to see more simon! his room mate it cool too :)
Love Simon! His sarcasm and hilarious remarks are awesome. I hate that the wiped his memory at the end of City of Heavenly Fire but I love that he has this opportunity to train and learn at the academy. I think most of the characters are growing on me, even the ones that were full of them selves in the beginning. I'm glad he can bond with his roommate about normal teenage things. I also really like the flash back stories that the guest speakers provide just making everything fit together better.
I love Cassandra Clare and her Shadowhunters. Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy is just an amazing addition to her already great series! .

I loved George Lovelace and was devastated when he died. However, my favorite part of this book is watching Clary and Simon bond all over again and become parabatai.
This has actually been on my TR shelf for a while. Might crack it open this month. This series is close to my heart.
Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy was so great. I just really enjoyed getting back with the characters I already loved.
For my favourite character I'm really tempted to go with Simon just because his character is so great but since I already knew Simon for 6 books now I decided that I wanted to go with some who, to me, went threw a massive change and that is...
Robert Lightwood.
I hated him in The Mortal Instruments Series and just really liked seeing how he's trying to be a better dad now...

This book was amazing and so refreshing from the rest of the series. These little novellas were like little breaths between the humongous other books, but I have to say, they do hold a lot of important information. I would thoroughly recommend reading this compilation before going forward with the series so as to not spoil yourself. I have to admit, one of my main reasons for picking this book up was because SIMON! I love Simon and his quirky, geeky personality. I also loved the diversity and backstory that this book provided, it is truly beautiful.
I did a full review of 'Born to Endless Night', which was the ninth novella, on my blog if you want to check it out: https://labookdreamer.wordpress.com/2...
One of my favourite scenes from the book would have to be (view spoiler)
I loved everything about this book but my favourite two stories would have to be "Born to Endless Night" and "Nothing but Shadows". My favourite character is George ((view spoiler)), least favourite is Robert no surprises there :D
I cried over George as well! He was basically all set to be my favorite new character in that universe. D: WHYYYYYYI also loved James and Matthew, I hope there are more stories with them!
My favorite story was the one with Alec & Magnus & the baby...
Least favorite character? That's a hard one, because they all grew on me, even Jon Cartwright. Maybe Robert but I feel like even he redeemed himself a bit. I love everyone!
I recently finished this one. I enjoyed most of the stories. "Nothing but Shadows" was a favorite! I cannot wait for the release of the Last Hours series!
Has anyone read Lord of Shadows yet? Dear God, I swear Tales was published just to get us to care about characters who are about to die...
Kate wrote: "Has anyone read Lord of Shadows yet? Dear God, I swear Tales was published just to get us to care about characters who are about to die..."Just finished Lord of Shadows and am in shock. How could Cassie be so cruel. It has one hell of an ending. And we have to wait for two years to read The Queen of Air and Darkness. It's torture!
I finished this book last week. I thought since Simon was my favorite character in TMI I would absolutely love it. I really liked the first few stories, but after that Izzy kept showing up and it was just so much about relationship drama. That was exactly why City of Fallen Angels was my least favorite TMI book. My favorite story was probably The Whitechapel Fiend (I think that was the Jack the Ripper one) and I loved the first two where Simon was settling in. I thought it was hilarious how all the students were fangirling (and fanboyling) over his friends.
I freaking loved George! I can't even express how mad I am at Cassandra for that ending. I was smiling away at Simon getting his memories back just to have my heart ripped out on the next page. I am still not over it =(
I haven't started Lord of Shadows yet only because I've been hearing about this heartbreaking ending with a serious cliffhanger and wasn't aware that the third book releases in two years. I am finishing up my current read and rereading Lady Midnight first... but I plan to take my time. Especially after George.
To me the ending of LoS wasn't super heartbreaking (TBH I had a list of like 10 characters who I was like IF THEY DIE AT THE END I WILL BE SO MAD) but it is a cliffhanger!! ... I was actually more upset that (view spoiler) when I had slowly grown to care about him after reading Tales. And (view spoiler) after he had finally redeemed himself a little. (The spoilers are for LoS not Tales). Maybe I wasn't as affected by the death at the end of LoS, because George's death killed me so much. George was so nice and good-natured and I loved his scenes with Simon more than almost all the other scenes (except maybe Simon's scenes with Jace, which were all pretty hilarious).

Just finished this book. Dang it, o hate when I'm right. I knew someone was going to die drinking from the immortal cup, but dang it, I am in mourning today. Totally couldn't sleep last night. Book Girl Problems.

This book was such an emotional rollercoaster. I didn't really like Simon as much from the Mortal Instruments series (I didn't dislike him, but he was definitely not my favorite), but in this book we saw him in a brand new light. It was fun to have a book that was partially in the Shadowhunter universe and partially in the mundane world. All the parts between Isabelle and Simon played with my heartstrings. I felt so emotionally invested in what I wanted their relationship to be that sometimes I forgot that they were starting basically from scratch.

I also liked the Simon/Jace relationship which I don't think we really got to see before.

There will be. There's an upcoming series called The Last Hours which is going to be about the children of the The Infernal Devices characters. I think it's about to be published once The Dark Artifices is wrapped up.
