I just stumbled onto this while reading something on iHorror.com. Apparently , the 1987 vampire film, The Lost Boys, is being developed into a TV show for the CW sometime soon. It says that Rob Thomas, the guy who also turned iZombie into a television show for the CW, will be behind it. The story will span across a period of seventy years, and creators are planning for the show to last a whole seven seasons. I'm assuming, from what I'm reading, that it will feature some of the vampire characters from the movie Like David and the rest of his vampire gang that live in a cave in the fictional California town of Santa Carla, when they meet Michael Emerson (Yeah, you really can't have the thing without those guys).

If this is true, I hope they don't screw it up and they do the original material justice. That sequel they did in 2008 was so unbelievably horrible, that I threw the DVD in the garbage after watching it once, and I didn't even bother with the third one.

I think it's interesting how something like this never really goes away. This summer is the 30th anniversary of when the film first came out. Apparently there is a limited edition making of book called Lost in The Shadows:The Making of The Lost Boys out now, I will have to find that and get my hands on it soon. Also, when I was in the comic book store a few weeks ago, I stumbled onto a The Lost Boys comic book series.

The Lost Boys was probably my #1 favorite vampire movie growing up. I remember watching it over and over again. It was something my friends always talked about too. LOL...I still have a The Lost Boys poster hanging on my wall. Today, I think the movie is a little bit campy and dated, but on the other hand I still appreciate it. It's become one of the classic, iconic vampire movies we all love, like the Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi stuff. The eighties really didn't have many vampire films, but the ones they did have like Fright Night, Near Dark and The Lost Boys, were all awesome (I still don't get why more people don't like Vamp). LOL...also, that was before Twilight came along and vampires were still bad-asses (just kidding, they still are. Meyer really can't take that away no matter how hard the hack tries). So, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope whatever they come up with is good.

No problem. Yeah, I agree..about the "teen-ify" comment. I mean that would suck if they just turned it into another Vampire Diaries. LOL.
