I like this topic! Now I am trying to rack my brain to think of movies that are NOT books that I love enough to want to know more! haha This might take some time...and WAY MORE COFFEE!! ;)

Sam | 606 comments haha this is a good one coz i just found out Silver Lining Playbook is an actual book by Matthew Quick! haha dont know how long that would have taken me to find out if I didn't look! :D who knew!

Booksarethebest well I don't like the movie and about the book I have it but I don't read it yet.

message 6: by Nesha (new)

Nesha ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND seriously should be a book. It's one of the most original screenplays I have ever seen brought to life. I'm still seriously in shock that it's not a book. Love, love, love that movie!

I agree so much!! It was amazing! I still remember seeing it in theaters and walking away just in awe!

message 8: by Nesha (new)

Nesha Man I wish I would've seen it in theaters. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite movies

I have seen the preview a few times and it looks really good! It looks a little young for my standards, but at the same time I work with kids so I am sure they will like it and then we can chat about it. My one guy friend wants to see it really bad, so I will likely end up in theaters soon enough with him to catch it! Kind of weird it is not a book....I just looked around to make sure, and nope...no book!

message 12: by Δ|вσω (new)

Δ|вσω The Matrix would be a good book!

message 13: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments All 3 Matrix movies or just the first??? I was disappointed in the second! The third was ok... but yeah I agree they would make good books if done well :)

message 14: by Ria (new)

Ria | 41 comments Not a movie but I reckon the tv show Teen Wolf would make a good book series :]

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
I think The Matrix would be awesome!! And I feel like in book form the second and third movie might be a little better. I have not seen them nearly as much as the first, but I'm sure if they were books then they would get better as they went on and we would all hate all 3 movies even more! haha

you don't think it would turn into something like Vampire Diaries?

Perksofbeingnerdy | 20 comments Has anyone read the book Carrie? I'm debating on whether I should read it

message 20: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments oh i saw the trailer for this, this is by Stephen King right? I haven't read it so can't tell ya sorry :(

message 21: by Ria (new)

Ria | 41 comments @sam I haven't read the tvd books haha but I heard it's really really different from the show o.o

but yeah I think it would be cool, there aren't many y.a werewolf novels out there atm :/

message 22: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments I love werewolves too, but not too many in the YA genre. I have read Patricia Briggs series Moon Called about a were-coyote. also Carrie Vaughn's Kitty and the Midnight Hour and Keri Arthur's Full Moon Rising... I could keep going but I wont :D

message 23: by Ria (new)

Ria | 41 comments Yeah most of the werewolf books I've read are new adult haha. I just added all of them to my TBR list! thanks :]

Oooh. That's a good one! I only saw one episode a little ways into the series, but it was good. One of these days I'll watch all of it on Netflix! :)

This is one my favorite Stephen King books.

Sam wrote: "haha this is a good one coz i just found out Silver Lining Playbook is an actual book by Matthew Quick! haha dont know how long that would have taken me to find out if I didn't look! :D who knew!"

I liked the book. I wasn't a fan of the movie because it was so different and everyone was miscast.

Is writing a tie-in book still a thing? I remember some movie franchises come out with a book version of the movie after the release.

message 27: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments I could tell, just by watching the movie, that I would like the book more. interested in reading the scene when he throws the book out of the window haha please tell me thats in it... no second thoughts don't tell me! :D

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments LOL I won't spoil you! Nah, I didn't like the movie even remotely as much as I did the book. The casting was off, there was zero chemistry... it was just a mess.

Why JLaw won for that, I have no idea. I love her though.

message 29: by Rohina (new)

Rohina (rohina) Is there a movie being made for Beautiful Disaster? If no, then there should be one...

I wish that Lucy was also a book....then I could get a really story out of it. Terrible movie...... Kind of sad I waisted my money on it when Guardians of the Galaxy is about to come out....

message 31: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments wow really... Lucy was not good?? I have only just seen the preview when I went with my sister to see Dwayne 'the rock' Johnson in Hercules! haha that was cheesy and fun :D damn i had hopes it would be good. *sigh* oh well.

message 32: by Dana, SuperMod (new)

Dana Burkey (danaburkey) | 1690 comments Mod
I read some bad reviews but the preview looked good enough that I wanted to see it still. It was a total waste of time and money! So little plot aside from what you see in the preview and so much exposition and weird dialogue. Not to mention the ending is crap and the beginning has all these weird other images going on. We don't get to see Lucy at all before everything goes down so we don't really care about her much through the thing.... I'm just glad I was with good friends so we could talk here and there during the whole thing!

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I'm not the biggest ScarJo fan, although she renders me speechless every time I see her in person. My folks watched it and said the same thing, good previews but the movie didn't deliver that well.

message 34: by Sam (new)

Sam | 606 comments I hate when they put all the movie into the preview! haha reminds me why I dont write any reviews as I tend to give everything away... I'm so bad at it haha

message 35: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (mikgnuoyeaj) Nightmare before Christmas (Directed by Tim Burton) would be a cool book!

There are movie tie-ins. Novelizations of the movie.

Ross Bauer (nightlightknight) | 34 comments Yazz wrote: "transfomers. i actually don't know if there are any books of them, maybe comics. but transformers are my favorite movies, so it would be amazing"

Transformers has been, and still is a series of comics (or as they call them nowadays, graphic novels) I've never read any, having grown up on the cartoons myself.

While novelisations of a movie can be good if written well, I'm more keen on seeing interesting minor characters given their own developmental fictions. The movie could establish a universe while the books could act as spinoffs, prequels, and the like. I'd imagine a book of the Aliens series might be a haunting read.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I did like the book tie-ins about CSI and Criminal Minds. The authors did a good job in capturing the TV characters and how they talked.

I saw Earth to Echo! I liked the way they madeit, and overall I liked the movie! I think it be an okay book, a graphic novel, perhaps?

Rory (thefauxpoe) | 2 comments Δ|вσω wrote: "The Matrix would be a good book!"

I was thinking that actually, the plotline could be a neat and subtle tribute to the works of Philip K. Dick (In fact I could easily have seen him writing it if he wasn't already dead).

message 44: by Phoebe (new)

Phoebe (phoebtch) | 4 comments I strongly believe Marie Lu's Legend Trilogy should have a movie adaptation. since HG had already come to an end, Divergent trilogy too, Death Cure on the way, really. we need more fantasy movies adapted from novels

message 45: by Rory (new)

Rory (thefauxpoe) | 2 comments While it may have been excellent I think the movie Jacob's Ladder would make a great book.

There's enough subtle, yet strange imagery that could be well described and visualised in literary form.

message 46: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (scottishshanny) | 6 comments I'd love to read the book for the movie The Guardian (the one about the coast guards)

Some of the narration in the movie is so beautiful that I could only wonder what a book would be like.

I have searched a fair bit to try and find a book it was based off and can't find one so I'm guessing there is only the movie but if anyone knows it to be a book somewhere let me know :)

Debbie (ddeborahjj) | 1 comments I would like to see Jupiter Ascending as a book and the prequels to get more info on the storyline and what happens. It was an original screenplay by the Wachowski siblings, but since the movie bomber in the theater I'm doubtful they'll make a sequel. So I'll guess we'll never know what happens next :(
