Anybody got any thoughts on this one before we start?

Anybody read anything else by this author previously?

I've read a Angel-befriends-human sort of book before (Angel Fire or something of the sort) and I'm hoping this isn't the usual flat characters, angel and human fall in love and fight the world sort of thing. Doesn't seem to be so though.

Question. Angelfall is part 1 of 3 will the rest of the series be added on for June read or just part 1?

I believe I may be participating in this since I own all 3 books and I need to get them read. I'm excited to read them 😊

Have had this lurking on my kindle for ages. Have seen mixed reviews so we'll see how it goes.

Talk about plunging us straight in to a nightmare. The panic as we realise the significance of the feather floating out of the sky was chillingly depicted. Not sure why this has all happened, but I guess we might get told.

Up to ch15. Not sure why the angels are doing what they are doing. Pen's mother seems seriously disturbed.

Finished. Though there's things I liked about this-namely the idea and the relationship between Penryn and a Raffe - it felt a bit of a mixed-up book.

Okay, so I realise that Dee-Dum are meant to be likeable characters and all, but red-headed identical twins who seem to love a good prank and happen to be great at spying too? They just seem to be a bit of a Weasley Twin rip-off more than anything else at this early stage. Their personality at first glance just seems way too similar. Hope that there is something else in the coming chapters to distance them from that and makes them more unique (or at least less Weasley-like.

I definitely did not see the whole "demon wings" thing, and while I did expect that Raffe and Penryn would likely be separated in some way, I didn't manage to guess that it would be because she was "dead".

Hello! Sorry I'm quite late, but I will be joining! :)
Read up till Chapter 5 (view spoiler)[ I like the book so far. A lot happened in very little time and I'm still trying to figure out the world that they are in. I finished A Daughter of Smoke and Bone a few days back which was also a book about angels so i'm pretty sure I'll be mixing up the 'angel facts' haha 😅 I like Penryn and the fact that the angel smirked when Penryn pretended he was heavy makes me like him a little too. Chapter 25 (view spoiler)[ I thought there were cannibalistic children in the forest but it turns out, they are actually demons. Wow. Great. Also, the moment the twins Dee-Dum characters were introduced, their red hair and pranking persona screamed Fred and George Weasely at me :") I really like Obi and the military camp in general -
I'm sure that they will play a larger role later or in the coming books. I realise that we still don't know much about the angels and their world and I hope to learn more about it!! (hide spoiler)]

Nooooooooo I did not want my hunch about Penryn being experimented on to be correct ASDFGH The first thought that came into my mind was - all that chocolate carrying to find out she eats human flesh. Great. Also, why are they even creating these demons? To wipe out the human race? Also, I really don't know what to feel about Penryn's mother. (hide spoiler)]

The whole thing with Raffe getting the demon wings shocked me - I was expecting Laylah to do something with his Snowy wings but certainly did not expect her to stitch it onto a demon. Even though the loss of his angelic wings is sad, I'm glad that Raffe is able to fly. Still thoroughly creeped out by the mother though. And by Paige. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 7 (view spoiler)[ so creepy about her mum and how it's almost like she gets possessed. Especially when it sounds like it's a common thing among a few mums based on the newspaper articles that are mentioned. I can see this storyline really taking off! (hide spoiler)]

Page 72 (view spoiler)[ I'm enjoying it so far but not seeing anything too special. Raffe is going to be another dark, forbidden love interest, Penryn is the feisty, self-sufficient heroine fighting to save her family (Paige). Both okay alone but I read a lot of YA and it's literally the same in so many of them. I just sort of feel like I've read this before. the most interesting element for me so far is Penryn's schizophrenic mother. I actually think her perspective would be very intriguing. Page 152 (view spoiler)[ I'm honestly getting bored. I'm just unimpressed and the hype was so good. Raffe isn't attractive to me at all. The camp is a cool idea and I liked Penryn's fight with Boden. Anita is just the classic pretty but evil girl in every YA book. (hide spoiler)]
