I am trying to recall the name of a fiction book I read in the 1970s during my teenage "all things horses" phase. I don't remember much about the book except it involves some sort of horsemanship club or camp, and failure to follow the rules or do things properly results in demerits. Sorry I can't remember more!

Thank you for the resource links! I'm not recognizing anything yet but will keep my eyes open. . . .
The Horsemasters by Don Stanford? This one was originally published earlier than the '70's, but Scholastic Book Club and others did reprints, including tie-ins to Disney movie. It does feature a horsemanship course and demerits--lots of demerits.
