I was so sad that I missed the meeting about this book - I was eager to hear everyone's thoughts!! I loved it. I found it very powerful. There were so many places that left out information deliberately, to make you think one thing when another was going on...the first instance I noticed of this was the description of "a rotting body" and it's not until several sentences later that he reveals it's a mouse as opposed to a human body. It would be so interesting to read this book a second time, knowing the ending. I hope you all enjoyed it as well!
Disclaimer This was our library book club selection for this month. There are two stories here-- one the book with the disclaimer and the other, the narration. The suspense is in finding out which story is the truth. I was caught off guard when a fellow book club member believed the other story was the truth, not the one the rest of us believed. It made us all want to re-read it.It distresses me that not only in real life but in fiction, the victim may not be believed.
