Anyone else keep reference materials on the horror genre?

There's a great one coming out this fall from Grady Hendrix:
Paperbacks from Hell: A History of Horror Fiction from the '70s and '80s.

I have Danse Macabre and a few others at home.

The Vampire Book: The Encyclopedia of the Undead Basically everything about vampires, whether it's from books movies, ancient mythology, everything. Up to the point it was written. Unless there's a new edition, there should be no sparkling vampires.

I may have gotten rid of mine, but I spent a lot of with it during my teen obsesseion with vampires.

I have reference books on History or horror, sci-fi and fantasy movies. Which always talks about the books behind the films.

I recommend by Dennis Gifford. It's not deep, but it's probably the most fun book I've ever read on the subject of classic horror movies. The author really loves his subject.

The books I have are as follows

The Rough guide to Horror movies - Alan Jones ( Ok but for some reason is not as good as the sci-fi edition in the series)

The Rough guide to sci-fi movies - John Scalzi (This I highly recommend as discuss books and also sci do from all round the world)

Science Fiction film source book - edited by David Wingrove ( good but dated as the book was written 1985

I also have An Unofficial companion to the novels of Terry Pratchett by Andrew M. Butler which is great if you have the whole discworld series and like to get all nerdy when discussing the books with friends :-)

There are two really great resources in my view, both on YouTube. One is The Horror Scriptorium, so more focused on Film and TV but still a lot of useful stuff for literature also. Another is Esoterica if you really want to get very factual about the occult for example. Both very engaging channels.
