Lois (literanarchy) | 27 comments One thing that we spent some time discussing on Saturday was what other feminist speculative fiction is out there, and especially if there's anything that takes a more positive approach (like a utopia as opposed to a dystopia). There were lots of ideas thrown around at the meeting, so I hope those who were there will add theirs here. The ones I remember are:

* The Female Man
* The Left Hand of Darkness
* The Herland Trilogy: Moving the Mountain, Herland, with Her in Ourland

I've read the first two, but have been meaning to read the last one for a while—I will definitely have to get on that!

What other ideas do you have for feminist speculative fiction? Or are there other books that you would recommend based on The Handmaid's Tale?

Lois (literanarchy) | 27 comments Although The Handmaid's Tale isn't *really* science fiction, this seemed like the most appropriate place to post this list for anyone interested in feminist science fiction! 👩‍🚀📚 http://dwarfandgiant.com/feminist-sci...
