currently read it and i def like it more than the first book! n yep defs reading the next one
My heart is breaking for Emma and Jules *sob*.AND THE WAY IT ENDED! OMG, I WAS LEFT IN CHAOS.
I need to read that next one.
I-A-M -R-U-I-N-E-DI've enjoyed this more than Lady Midnight. After reading this I'm really scared that it's not gonna end well for Julian and Emma. I've never shipped any couple as hard as I ship these two. And after that ending I'm really mad that we have to wait two years for The Queen of Air and Darkness. It's not fair!!
Absolutely brilliant! This was such a good sequel to Lady Midnight. I really loved seeing particularly the politics of the world unfold. I also enjoyed seeing Emma and Julian finally being truthful to one another, often in books (particularly in YA) there is so much miscommunication between characters and I'm just glad that it didn't carry through the entire book. Can we also take a moment to appreciate Cristina, Mark and Kieran. I adore all of them and love the dynamic between them. I can't wait for The Queen of Air and Darkness to see more of them.
I don't want to spoil anything for anyone that hasn't read it, but can we talk about the ending. Even though it's Cassandra Clare I was not expecting it! I was a sobbing mess by the end of it.
I really want to know what everyone else thinks about this amazing book.
This one was even better than Lady Midnight. I loved it!The ending tore me up, though. How am I supposed to wait this long for the final book?! D:
it was way too sad for Emma and Julian any I wish there would be more book with characters like Christina Mark amd Kieran they are so mature. As for the ending it was crutial but this is the second you dont get to win a war without losing anyone(and yes I cried my ass out for weeks after that ending) But like Cassie implied *Every rebellion needs a symbol she is the new mockingjay now! as sad it is its up to Julian to take adventage of the stuation (he proved to be a cold hearted leader whenever he is needed clearly in this book afew screens got me terrified of him for real)coz they need alliance and friends more than ever #Blackthorns for the world saving!!
but no it wasnt as good as Lady Midnight but Kit was a very welcomed fresh face and we got she Ty Livvy and Dru from closer with Kit well all are very brave and self sacraficing when it comes to family they are obviusly raised by Julian and he had done well apart from Kiearktina Ty steals quite a spotlight from Jemma💓
My favorite characters were Kit and Ty! I also love Dru. Obviously, hate Zara.I think my least favorite part was how the death of Jon Cartwright was handled - I grudgingly grew to like him a little bit during Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy and then he was introduced here and I was like, Okay, he's going to calm Zara down, oh look he's still dating Marisol, and then boom. Dead.
Also didn't like the implication that Magnus and Tessa were dying! Hopefully they find the cure in the next book because if it's a disease or curse affecting only warlocks then it will also affect the baby Max, too, right?
But the rest of the book I loved so much :D (except the very end, of course...)

I have a very bad feeling about what's to come later on. That's typically been my feeling in every Shadowhunters book.

when I thought sequels were never as good as previous books,Cassie throws her cards on my face! LoS is even better than Lady Midnight, the plot <3 how she can develop SO MANY CHARACTERS never ceases to amaze me, and she ties everything together and leaves us stunned. I can't believe QoaaD will be released in 2 years, tho.
Literally just finished the book two minutes ago! Great addition to the series, and definitely was a bit better than Lady Midnight. I thought that Emma & Julian's relationship progression was great, and the ending definitely tore me apart. I also bawled my eyes out at Ty's note to Annabell. Excited to see what happens in the next book!
Just finished reading it too and OH MY GOD THIS BOOK IT KILLED ME! Especially that ending! But on a lighter note, as an autistic reader, I really enjoyed Ty. I thought he was very well-written. Cassie nailed it with his portrayal.
I'm so excited for LoS! It's sitting in my shelf, waiting for me to finish PJ. After everything I read on here I will love it and it will kill me!
I absolutely loved it. Though I'm still waiting for them to address the fact that [SPOILER from The Lost Herondale] (view spoiler). That can't just be ignored in the whole series, right? It feels too important. I patiently waited throughout LOS for it to come up, but it never did.

Omigosh! Yes! I was devastated at the end! Waiting for the next one is miserable!

Also, Julian has A LOT of growing up to do. I think all of the lying and manipulation is catching up to him.

Oh, yes. I wholeheartedly agree! I think this tragic event will be the catalyst for Julian to really come alive in a magnificent way in the next book.
Favourite character: Gwyn and KitLeast favourite character: Zara
Just finished and I thought it was a really solid, if long read, with a heartbreaking ending. Clare has got herself a huge list of characters to work with and can't wait to see where it goes from here.
I think Julian will turn really dark in the next one. That death might have broken him and he is almost fanatically focused on the survival of his family to the point it consumes him. Emma will be instrumental to ensure it doesn't.
Favorite character: Kit/Livvy/TyLeast Favorite character: Diego Rosales/Zara Dearborn
Favorite ship: Christina x Mark
Least Favorite ship: Kieran x Mark
This book was amazing! From the characters to the plot.
The ending KILLED me though. I love how Cassandra Clare had Diana grow more as a character, as well as, Gwyn and Kieran. I feel so bad for Emma and Julian already, i just wish there was a way where they could be happy :(. What happened in the end also had to crush Julian.
But overall I loved this book. 5 out of 5 stars. <3
Hello everyone! So, I heard this theory that Sebastian and the Seelie Queen had a child, and that may be the weapon Jace and Clary are looking for in Faerie. I personally think that it's brilliant and possibly canon, thoughts?
Finished it yesterda. It is definitely my favorite book of the year, even of all time. Of it gave me so much feels I still am not okay! I can't say what my favorite part is since I know some of you are still reading so it would be a spoiler 😅
Shae wrote: "Hello everyone! So, I heard this theory that Sebastian and the Seelie Queen had a child, and that may be the weapon Jace and Clary are looking for in Faerie. This book has managed to break my heart many times, I've lost count. One of my fav Cassandra Clare books so far. I absolutely love Ty and Kit's relationship. I have newfound respect for both Kieran and Mark. I agree with Emma in regards to the Cristina-Mark-Kieran triangle heading towards a faerie threesome XD BUT oh my God. That ending. I can't even discuss anything else because it shattered me. Kit hasn't found out yet and the blackthorns are broken and Alec is mourning and Jules and Emma dont have a trusted ally in the clave now 😭 why is this world so cruel.
This is my first review as part of our book club!NON SPOILER
This book is by far the best book Cassandra Clare has released so far. It was long, but captivating enough that when you get to the last page, you will be sitting there thinking, "gosh, there's more right? There HAS to be more!" The characters are a blast to get to know more in depth (expect a killer twist or two) and you get to grow with all of the Blackthorns you were growing to love in Lady Midnight! Definitely my top book recommendation this year!
SPOILER
Lets jump to the end. What. The. Hell. LIVVY! My heart cannot deal. I couldn't breathe. Can we all please take a moment to appreciate Cassandra Clare's heart wrenching twists 🙏 Here i was thinking that my heart was broken at the end of Shadow Hunter Academy. I was wrong, because now there is a hole where LIVVY was living in my heart whilst reading this book. The characters are amazing. Kit and his ramblings about " stupid, hot shadow hunters not letting me get my things." But he learns to love being a Watson to Ty and Livvy. Ty and his amazing Sherlock abilities. Cristina and her amazing love triangle. Kieran and his complexity although he cannot lie. Mark and his beautiful innocence about the world. Gwyn, the man every woman wishes would come and steal them from a window to have a date in their pyjamas. Diana and her amazing story (it both shocked and warmed me). Perfect Diego and Jaime, who have a backstory i can't wait to read about. Dru, the curvaceous young lass who will learn to love herself one day. Emma and Jules. The love story that made 2017 for me. I love them both equally. Does this summarise how much i loved this book? It made me laugh, but it also made me sad and excited for more. Cassandra Clare you have done it again 😍
PREDICTIONS
The Boy Dru sees when she uses Jaime's faerie heirloom is the Seelie Queen and Sebastian's son!
Julian will lose control because the parabatai curse is already eating him up and Emma has to go on a quest with Cortana.
I hope everyone has heard that the next book in the series is going to be published in fall 2018 instead of 2019!!http://cassandraclare.tumblr.com/post...
I'm glad, I'd rather finish a trilogy than have two series going at once.
I'm want to read the book, and from the reviews I've read, it seems that people like the book way more than the first book. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
