I accidently discovered yesterday that Ian Livingstone the co-founder of the Fighting Fantasy series and franchise, is going to have a new FF gamebook published next month:

For me, this series is the gold standard of fantasy gamebooks. Most people might be familiar with choose-your-own-adventure books like Sugarcane Island, but Livingstone and his co-author Steve Jackson massively enhanced and refined the "turn to page/paragraph number ..." by adding character stats, skills and an inventory when they published the first FF gamebook, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, back in 1982.

Most adventures in the series have a fantasy setting and take place on the world of Titan, with infamous locations like Darkwood Forest, Port Blacksand, the city of thieves, or the town of Fang with its challenging and notorious Deahtrap Dungeon. It seems like the new book is once again set in Port Blacksand. There already have been several series relaunches
in the past. The celebration installment for the 30th anniversary, Blood of the Zombies, was a bit off, since it not only had heavily modified game mechanics, but also a horror/modern world setting.
