A lot of people have been disappointed with Maia and how she seemed totally unaffected after meeting sebby and the Jordan thing happening (i admit I was disappointed too), but I'm pretty sure people would have been even more disappointed if Maia just say around all depressed and did nothing at all but grieve over someone she didn't love, not only would that be dumb that would be super out of character!
Maia after COHF became one of the very few people I call my idol!

As for Maia's character during the rest of the book, I really was on her side. She didn't let Jordan's death take her down, instead she did the best she could to get everyone out of the difficult situations they'd gotten themselves into. I loved that she claimed the leadership of the pack, and how she handled the whole situation with Maureen. She really was a capable leader and a strong, female character. I am happy that there's a thing going on with her and Bat, and I think she deserves it after all she's been through. I do believe that she had some character development throughout the series, and that she added a lot to the story.
