priya (gpriyaa) I know there have been many mixed feelings about Maia during COHF and I want to hear yours

priya (gpriyaa) Personally i really respected Maia in the book. Throughout all she went through with Jordan and Sebastian she didn't let it get to her and she endured it, and saved many peoples lives.

A lot of people have been disappointed with Maia and how she seemed totally unaffected after meeting sebby and the Jordan thing happening (i admit I was disappointed too), but I'm pretty sure people would have been even more disappointed if Maia just say around all depressed and did nothing at all but grieve over someone she didn't love, not only would that be dumb that would be super out of character!

Maia after COHF became one of the very few people I call my idol!

Eri (musicspeaksforemotionsunsaid) | 123 comments I agree with you Priya. Not that she's my idol that would be someone else. But what I can say is why should Maia grieve over someone she knew deep down inside she didn't love. Sure she felt bad but she knew that there were bigger things at stake other than Jordan. So yeh. Sure everyone wants to beat and kill Seb. So everyone has a reason. so that last part wasn't necessary....

Ewa... | 118 comments I was really indifferent when Jordan died and to Maia's reaction. I was more surprised when I found out that she didn't love Jordan since... forever-ish. I thought that Maia was pregnant with Jordan's baby not the other outcome. She truly did pull together and became a great leader later in the book and I'm happy for her and Bat. (Am I the only one that feels like they'll be a great couple?) I agree with Priya, it would have been absolutely stupid for Maia to mope around while everything was happening, whether she loved Jordan or not. With that kind of childhood and all that Maia went through she deserves the happiest ending she can get.

Nina | 27 comments I might be biased because I never really liked Maia to begin with, but I felt some of her reactions were something between unrealistic and inappropriate. And no, she shouldn't mope about Jordan while everything's happening, but there's a passage like the day after Jordan died or so, where she's thinking something akin to "wow Bat has such broad shoulders". This has nothing to do with her not being in love with Jordan anymore; if my friend (frankly, if any person at all) died in my arms, I don't think I would be all over some guy's physique the very next day. Refusing to break down and actually doing something useful is admirable of her; taking in the eye candy right after a friend's death, less so.

priya (gpriyaa) I get what your saying I felt that way too before but I changed my mind a few days before I made this group (or whatever you call it) a tumblr post Cassie made made me change my mind

priya (gpriyaa) But yah I got really mad at Maia for going all over bat after also and I still am (though the part at the end of the book was more on the cute side)

Katie (tiarose) I just don't like that Maia acted like she still loved Jordan but then later said she didn't. I honestly think she just wasn't sure how she felt. Bat was like a life saver, someone she knew who cared for her. It gave her some solid ground. If that makes any sense.

Anna (zanetaftanei) | 14 comments I've always liked Maia, she was never my favorite but I didn't dislike her. When Jordan died and she admitted that she didn't love him and wanted to break up with him, I didn't get mad at her, I understood why she was feeling that way. I just wished she had told him before he died, but then she mentioned that he seemed like he wanted to be forgiven so badly that he almost believed he had already been forgiven, and I can't imagine what it would do to him if he found out that Maia didn't really love him. I understand why she wasn't ready to tell him, I just feel like Jordan would've had a better closure if he had died knowing Maia's true feelings about him.

As for Maia's character during the rest of the book, I really was on her side. She didn't let Jordan's death take her down, instead she did the best she could to get everyone out of the difficult situations they'd gotten themselves into. I loved that she claimed the leadership of the pack, and how she handled the whole situation with Maureen. She really was a capable leader and a strong, female character. I am happy that there's a thing going on with her and Bat, and I think she deserves it after all she's been through. I do believe that she had some character development throughout the series, and that she added a lot to the story.

Luisa Rumolo | 2 comments It's been a while since I finished COHF but I remember feeling so confused about Maia in the last book..In the beginning, I thought she was so cold with Jordan 'cause she was pregnant but when I realize it was because she was trying to break up with Jordan I kinda hated her. Mostly, in the part where, talking with Bat about Jordan's death, she regrets not breaking up with him before he'd been killed: she was so cruel in that moment! I know that she suffered a lot becoming a werewolf and not knowing what to do, but after becoming like him she could have understood that it was not entirely Jordan's fault..Those are my thoughts:)
