SPOILER ALERT FOR ALL THREE BOOKS!
********************************************
At the end of Child 44, when Leo kills Andrei, which is witnessed by Nadya, she stares at him with "her father's fury in her eyes." Knowing this was the first book of a trilogy, I fully expected Nadya to be the antagonist in the following book, but she was never once mentioned again. That comment seemed to the the perfect set up for the next story, so I was really surprised when the character of Nadya disappeared. Zoya and Anisya were the antagonists instead, but Nadya, being Leo's own niece would have been a great character to develop. I wonder whether this was the author's original intent and then he changed his mind when writing the second and third books. Did anyone else notice this?
