Tetchy | 16 comments After reading a bit of The Road, I've come to the conclusion my brain can't handle that level of depressing right now. So I'm switching to The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. It's been on my "to read" list for a while and now seems like the perfect time.

Tetchy | 16 comments Finished Haunting of Hill House last night! Moving on to quickly start a genre book so I don't miss that week. :)

Susan D'Entremont (susande) | 286 comments I read Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital after seeing it recommended in this group for this week. At least that's where I thought I saw the recommendation, but I don't see it on this thread. In any case, thanks for the recommendation, whoever it was!

Hi Susan-- that might have been me-- although now I don't remember what thread it was in, either. I'm so glad you liked it!

Should add this to my reading list!

Rich Pearson-strain (richpearson-strain) | 54 comments I'm reading what is billed as the first ghost story, the classic "The Turning of the Screw." I've seen this book referenced all over the place and figured this would be a great opportunity to finally get around to acquainting myself with it.
