it's funny you mention this Sorento62 because she wrote under the pen name A.M. Barnam, when writing pieces of the gothic horror persuasion... It was a secret, I am guessing. Glad it piqued your interest! :)
Flannery O'Connor, the Queen of the Southern Gothic genre, is a favorite of mine... I do hope the group will indulge you in reading your nomination. It's beyond good. Good luck!

I remember finding that description intriguing when it first came up as a nominee. I would read this as a buddy read if it doesn't win.

I'm planning to read this anyway so would love to be able to discuss it in here
