Calypso sank to her knees by a rock, she was exploring the wild for different flowers, which ones would look fantastic by her windows and which ones would be good herbs for drying. She'd found some milk thistle by some shrubbery a few ways back and for flowers she had found Pinesap and Mountainbells which she collected in her various packages she brought with, some vials too. She was now looking at a Willowherb, a flower known to be found in more open spaces and deeper in the green woods. Her hair fell onto her face and no matter how hard she tried to control her blond locks still escaped. Her brows were scrunched due to being so concentrated on the small slender stalked flower. The birds above were singing tunes that could only be made by them, no instrument capable enough to make such music.
Traipsing through the Yuirwood forest, Aaron was glad to be taking a break in his studies. And by studies, he means 'studying to be the next Good of Nightmares' type of studies. Oh, it was something he looked forwards to, for sure, but it hurt to see some of the nightmares he had to watch. Granted, he just started a month ago and they still had a LONG, LONG, LOOOONG way to go, but, eh. He had time to learn.
With that in mind, he looked upwards, to gauge what time of the day it was, and promptly tripped over a rock. Landing on his face, he just lay there for a bit, before lifting his upper body off the floor, and looking straight at a sight he had never seen. Oh, he had heard from Ayla about this being he had laid eyes on, one who was a trillion years old - which to Aaron, was just beyond his understanding, really, though Ayla being eons of years older was something he did not even think about. She had talked about how she had watched really be born and die, and like, he was always just out of the conversation soon as possible because, really, he was only 320, a youth in Gifted Human years.
A sharp burning pain in his ankle brought him back to the present, and he realized he had been staring for around a minute or two. And of course, not wanting to be taken the wrong way, he blurted out, "I am gay!" And then promptly blushed up to his roots, which looked horrible with his pale skin he knew. He stuttered, then let his body fall back down and hid his face, muttering about his soon to be death of embarrassment, though with his child-like wonder he could not help taking peaks at this ancient being who he had encountered, eyes wide, though with a year in the corner from the pain in his ankle.

Calypso looked back confusedly to the being that had just blurted the most weirdest thing, she raised a perfect eyebrow at the man. Younger than her, most likely, his eyes a pure blue and hair as white as snow, it reminded her of the snowflakes she had seen from winter, falling and falling to no end. The man was quite handsome but she could see that he was in pain, probably from the fall. Calypso looked back to the flower, and putting it into one of the bags around her hips she stalked over to the man. When she came in close proximity of him, she stared at him, it wasn't out of the ordinary for people to come around about the forest, Calypso usually made herself not seen in those moments, though this time, she had been so very focused on the flower that she just hadn't noticed. Calypso circled the young man, pricking her power about to see where the pain was, and feeling that it was in his ankle, she touched it tentatively, watching the man as she did so. From her healing it would make the pain better, he had only sprained it, she could see.
Looking up wary yet still fascinated by this being, Aaron blinked as she circled him, then just blinked again as she knelt down to touch gently on his ankle. He did not get any bad vibes from her, so he never even though of her as a threat. He gasped as the pain yielded to a sense of relief, and smiled big and bright. Reaching out, he stopped his hand a bit before her, and beamed. "Hello! I am Aaron! Aaron Hale, in full. Nice to meet you!" He then belatedly realized shaking hands was such a human thing to do, and blushed.
Calypso's eyes widened a fraction, it took her a bit of time to understand why his hand was out in front of her. It has been centuries since she even held a hand or even still, shake one. She reached her hand awkwardly to him, taking it and slowly lifting it up and down, though not in a normal way, her hand not sideways in a normal shake, instead she had put her hand under his and shook it that way. She still did not fully remember the proper way to shake a hand. "Calypso Dahile" She said, her voice sounding strong yet feminine. She took her hand away, she wasn't used to direct introductions.
Aaron smiled and his eyes lit up as the female shook his hands, not caring how awkward the handshake was. Calypso Dahile, so her full name was Calypso Dahile. Huh. Cool! Beaming, he leaned forward a bit, excited. "What were you doing here!" Eyes flicking to the bag, he tilted his head, questions in his gaze.
Warm light of the setting sun pierced through the lush green canopy of the tall and strong trees that grew in the Yuirwood, a scene right out of a novel which was precisely the reason Selene was there. She was in need of inspiration for a new book, it was to be a compelling story based on the true lives of the people who once lived in Yuirwood paired with an enchanting plot. Her husband had fallen ill and her son was "too busy" to spend time with his loving mother and so she was left to go on her walk alone. She drifted through the ancient ruins, a pencil tucked neatly behind her ear, a pad a small notepad of blank paper and as usual, her eternally restoring glass of wine in hand. Of course she was in disguise, she never let her cover be discovered and was careful to elude anyone who could figure out her true identity. She found the ruins to be quite fascinating, she may have been unimaginably older than they were, but she had never had the pleasure of visiting until more recent times. Selene appreciated the beauty of it all, the ruins were something she favoured above almost all things in Feywild, they were a reminder of a time long gone, a time when her beloved children were not at war with one another.
Elowen landed on the soft grass of Yuriwood, she had come to refreshen her spirits, being in the destructive world could be rather dull and depressing from time to time, so the peace of beauty was settling at the moment, she passed by trees, letting her fingers touch the bark as she passed, her hands didn't have claws at the moment, her natural, pale fingers feeling the roughness of the bark. In a few minutes she came upon the ruins, letting the fresh breeze of the few wild flowers calm her, the birds not twittering in their trees due to her, animals were always so very afraid of her that it became exhausting that only by looking at them they could just fly away in a small frightened air.
Selene continued through the ruins, taking a sip of her wine taking in her surroundings as she walked. She took note of everything, from the slight breeze that was coming from behind her to the joyous curls of birds that flew so close it was almost like they were greeting her and welcoming Selene into the ruins. The forestry itself was nice, but Selene was there to try and understand what life would have been like when the Yuirwood was home to a society. She followed along the crumbled walls of an old building, imagining the days when it was a home inhabited by a small family. She came across a chunk of wall that had collapsed completely, leaving one large stone in its place. It was laid in a warm patch of sunlight, a few vines of ivy creeping up the side of it, but what Selene saw was the perfect seat from which she could observe the rest of the eroding building.
Once she had sat down she sighed, relieved to no longer be on her feet, she had walked all the way from the outskirts of the city to get to the Yuirwood and it was a rather lengthy trek. She carefully placed glass down on the ground to free up her hands. She took out her notepad and took the pencil from behind her ear and set them on her lap. Selene then lifted a dainty had to adjust her red framed glasses and in the process she knocked a strand of her raven hair loose, but she let it be and proceeded to pull her sleeves up. Several birds with feathers of many different vibrant colours landed near by, their melodic songs echoing against the old stone walls. Selene gave a small giggle, amused by the small birds as she began to sketch a few things into her notebook, writing notes and descriptions for different parts of what she saw around her. On the page was the likeness of what the home would have looked like in its prime, a cute cottage like home with cobbled stone walls, a thatch roof and garden of flowers. Several sketches were made not just depicting it as a whole, but also images of rooms and particular objects.
Elowen stood in the ruins, seeing a woman sitting on one of the fallen rocks, she tilted her head in a birdlike way, vanishing from her original spot to reappearing behind the woman's shoulder, looking over her pad, it had a few bit of writing on it, nice words too, Elowen thought, nodding her head in agreement with herself. The birds that were originally around the woman now scattered frighteningly from her, she drew an exasperated sigh, rolling her eyes at their commotion.
Selene's brow looked up slightly and frowned upon seeing that the birds had left, their singing was quite pleasant in her opinion. She had, without looking, finished the line she had been drawing. Selene then fully raised her head, intent on figuring out what scared the birds away. She tucked the lock of hair that had earlier come loose so that she could see a greater range. Nothing was directly in front of her which caused her brow to furrow. Selene held the heart piece on her pendant as she held the pencil and notepad in one hand and quickly stood up, whirling around to see what it was that scared the birds. Her eyes widened when she saw who it was, Elowen would have been too young to have ever met Selene in person, besides Selene was in disguise, but Selene kept tabs on all of her children and the other gods. Elowen was the goddess of war and fire, one who had sided with her son Hyo. None the less she had an act to keep up, Selene stumbled backwards, an expression of shock on her face. Her foot had knocked over her glass which spilled out its contents onto the ground staining the dirt with a rich red tone. "L-Lady Elowen!" She exclaimed in surprise as she grasped her pendant close to her chest. Such became a habit considering its importance to the identity of Celina Dumontier.
Arran raised a perfect brow. "No need for the shock, I've scared enough animals for one day." She said, again exasperated from how easily she seemed to scare everyone when in truth she can be quite nice on her own. She picked up the glass and extended her pale hand to let the woman reach it. The wine glass seemed to fill up again, Elowen kept her brow raised at this, though the woman looked human it seemed she had magic, maybe a witch of some kind, she thought.
For a moment Selene was a bit taken aback, from the wording alone it almost seemed as though Elowen was referring to her as an animal, however, Selene knew better than to question it. She reached for the glass shakily, her breath somewhat choppy. Selene's slender hand carefully took the glass from Elowen, and fluidly withdrew and the glass was held tightly in her free hand. She then noticed Elowen's questioning expression which seemed to be in response to her refilling glass. "It was a gift from my husband, a curious little trinket." She informed her now acting a bit calmer. She wasn't positive what such a goddess was doing in the Yuirwood, it seemed a bit unusual, however, she couldn't go revealing how much she knew about her as it could arouse suspicion. She gave the pendant which she had been holding onto as though her life depended on it, which, as far as anyone else knew it did.
Elowen nodded slowly, though she was referring to her as animal, weren't they all? Everyone had an animal side to them as she thought. She looked to the woman's hand clutching the pendant but ignored it. "Shall we sit?" Elowen asked, sitting down on the block, it was big enough for two, enough space to provide them the comfortability they deserved.
Selene quietly collected the things she had dropped into the ground, dusting off the notepad as best she could, but alas, the open pages were now smudged with the remnants of the dirt. All it really meant was that she'd have to redo a few parts, but nonetheless it was a bit disappointing. Once she had a proper hold on everything she sat down on the rock next to Elowen. She placed the notepad and pencil back onto her lap and put the glass neatly on the ground, somewhere where it wouldn't get tipped over again. She cooled down her act, now appearing far more collected and relaxed with the situation at hand. "My apologies, I was quite..." She began, pausing for a moment so that she could choose the best word to describe her feelings ha at that moment, after all, as an author words held weight and precision of language was therefore important. "Startled and a bit unnerved by your sudden appearance lady Elowen." She explained, being careful to address her as a superior since Elowen was a goddess and Selene was supposed to playing the part of a mere human.
Elowen mentally rolled her eyes, humans, always with the titles and what status a person was. But she noticed the notebook, which made her feel uncomfortable because of the dirt on it, she wouldn't call herself a neat freak, living in a dirty environment when she was young made her not care for such things but she did like everything in its proper place. She took the notebook from the woman's hands, using her magic to clean the stains but leave the drawing, making the notebook spotless in the places where there were originally smudges. Handing it back to the woman before settling herself more comfortably. "So, what brings you to Yuriwood?" She asked, picking at her nails as she said this, the forest seemingly quiet because of her.
Selene smiled, having her sketches fixed was a lovely surprise, she herself never used magic unless by all means necessary. She wasn't willing to give away her identity unless her safety, or even more importantly the safety of her family was on the line. "Thank you," she said to Elowen gratuitously. Her actions had made Selene's life a little bit easier which was always appreciated. She perked up slightly at Elowen's question about why she was in the Yuirwood ruins. "Well, I'm an author, Celina Dumontier, I intend on writing a story that takes place here when it was still populated," She began, telling her the basics of why she was there. "there's no better way to truly capture the likeness of a place than to experience it yourself, I suppose one could say that I'm looking for inspiration." She explained, finishing in a cheery tone. Selene could write without really knowing what she was writing about, but in her mind you can't do a story justice without being able to draw upon your own experience.
"Yes, it is quite nice here." Elowen replied solemnly, in truth she would think this was her favorite forest out of all the others she had ever seen or found, she especially liked the ruins, which brought an ancient-like aesthetic to the forest. Elowen rubbed at the roughness of her armor at her hip, her pale stomach could be seen from the way her armor was worn, up between her breasts really, and a little bit of her thick thighs from the toughened boots. She picked at a spike on her armor, her mind wandering, just so as her gaze, though the raven haired woman seemed like a nice person to talk to, Elowen's thoughts were always wandering and up in the clouds, even Hyo had commented on it thousands of times and how annoying it was, though she supposed it was her nature.
"It is, I would have brought my son to see it, sadly, he can't be bothered to spend time with his dear old mother..." She lamented, clearly being a touch over dramatic on purpose. No matter how old he got, Selene would always view her son Orland as her little boy and so it was always a bit disappointing for her when he didn't want to spend time with her. Selene noticed Elowen fiddling with armour, which caused her to furrow her brow in curiosity. Her armour wasn't particularly covering which was really prodding at her maternal instinct, she was tempted to find her a large trench coat to cover up with. Selene's own clothing was simple and extremely modest in comparison, from her beige sweater to her black pants everything was fully covered and solid colour. "Um, how effective is that armour?" She asked somewhat hesitantly, not sure it would even serve it's purpose very well considering it left the most tender skin and easiest to target area in the body wide open. In her day Selene never wore armour, she disliked violence, her high priest usually fought in her place so she never had a reason to, but if you were going to wear armour she assumed that it should be able to, well, armour you.
Arran stopped fiddling with her armor, looking at it for a moment. "It's effective on the sides you see, for the open parts, if in battle, the arrows or swords would be unable to touch me because of hot my body temperature would be." She wasn't alarmed by this question, many asked it, but to her she needed to be comfortable if she was going to walk around in the armor all the time, and anyways, she had secondary armor in battle if she needed it. It was very stupid to reveal how weapons can't touch her for the human could do something with the information, though it didn't affect Elowen much, the information was quite useless as it was fact, though.
(Perhaps the way she bothers Elowen would be by questioning her too much about the battles among the gods, Hyo and the gods of destruction.)
Selene supposed that such a defence would serve its purpose well enough, though against someone who uses weapons that aren't affected by heat it likely would prove to be an issue. Nonetheless she didn't want to pry any further, it wasn't any major problem so it wasn't worth wasting any time on. What did I matter was her children and what better way to hear about them than from someone who has first hand experiences with them? "Now, I've fallen a bit out of touch with things happening in the realms..." She began, looking to Elowen, but rarely maintaining any for of eye contact. Her actions were out of worry, once she thought about this matter her mind started to imagine all the worst possible scenarios, however, to anyone else it may have seemed a tad suspicious. "Is it True that... That Hyo is striking back against the other gods?" She asked, her tone somewhat nervous. She wants to ease into the topic so she was going to start with what she actually knew already.
Elowen nodded. "Yes, though he is just reviving." She smiled, she couldn't wait to see Hyo back, she knew he would always know just what to do. As long as this measly mortal didn't disrespect him it would be enough. She leaned back against the rock and rested her arm on the rock next to her.
Elowen's smile went to show that she was clearly on Hyo's side which was a bit worrisome. She didn't want him to be sealed again, she disliked that solution from the start, however, at least if Ryo won there'd be a chance to fix things, of Hyo won everything was over, plain and simple. Her wish was for them to resolve their problems and to work in harmony regardless of how implausible that was. "So I imagine you are in his side... What is your goal?" She asked wondering if perhaps there was some motive she did not know of. She lifted her glass of the ground and took a sip, settling down as it seemed like they'd be there for a while.
Elowen's brow scrunched in concentration, she didn't really have a goal. Just being there with the person who saved her and cheering him on would one of the things she'd do. She knew that if the bad side lost it would be better because the world would keep in living but what was even the purpose of that? The people would have to rebuild everything so it was probably better for the world to end. She was by the side with Hyo and she was glad of it. She often wondered what would it be like to be in the side with The, but it was mostly just out of plain curiosity and not because she wanted to join. "I don't exactly have one." She answered finally, warily, but no sign of it shone on her god-like face.
((This is the closest I can get to her disrespecting Hyo, I couldn't have her blatantly insult him because she does love him, he's her son after all so this I suppose would be where Elowen would lash out against Selene.))
Selene was perplexed by this, to act with no goal in mind was simply thoughtless, she knew what she had to do to get the answer she really wanted, she had to evoke an emotion, such things made people pour out their thoughts more easily. She looked Elowen in the eyes, her own stare quite stern. It was the same glare that makes children cry when they misbehaved, the patented "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" stare that all children dreaded because it meant you parent was fuming. "Then why fight for him, he'll destroy everything without a second thought..." She told her solemnly, her posture stiff yet oddly imposing for such a modest woman. "Are you truly that blindly loyal to Hyo, are you going to openly wage war and lay waste to the world for no reason?" She questioned persistently, her tone growing more and more serious as she went on, she wasn't going to let this be for nothing, she was intent on learning her goal. She looked down at her lap and removed her glasses. She sat in silence for a moment, letting a sigh escape her lips. "What has he done to deserve your loyalty, I he is going to put this many people at risk for his own gain he doesn't deserve your dedication." She told her firmly now looking in the eyes without the obstruction that was her glasses.
Elowen's eyes narrowed, sharpened, a shadow passing over them. She stood up suddenly. "You are no parent to me to tell me such things, you have no idea what has happened in my past, it gives you no right to disrespect the person who probably saved my life." Her stare was menacing, daring the woman to make a move. "You are not one to make choices for me, so keeping your decisions to yourself would be best for a mere mortal to do, a mortal who has a brain of a child!" She bit out, letting this woman say that hit a nerve, Hyo had saved her in a way that made her look up to him, no matter how cruel he acted to her. She had no godly parents who wanted her, let enough who wanted to help her when she was in need, when she was starving on the dirty streets the people were heartless, selfish, greedy for their own homes and money than to spare a cent for food to a child. "He deserves my loyalty, I don't need you to question my motives or plans. Yes gods and goddesses, many of them have not experienced unending pain or the hollowed out belly in which gives you only so much strengthen live or even steal a scrap of food, even for a goddess. And why are you asking me these questions anyways? Are you a spy for the other gods and knew when I would come by?" By this time tears had prickled behind Elowen's eyes, angry and sad tears, she did her best to blink them away, she glared at Celene.
Selene felt bad, but it seemed she was getting far more this way, the answers were passionate and informative, the feeling behind them guaranteed the truth to them. Selene knew that if she really wanted to know what she had wished to find out then she'd have to keep pressing. "I see, so your life is worth more than anyone else's, him saving you grants you the right to wipe out entire races in his name?" Selene interrogated, paying no mind to the intense glare she was receiving. "Perhaps I am a spy, but I would hope that a real spy wouldn't be so upfront with their questions. If you truly wish to silence me then killing me will be your only option for you otherwise intend to kill my son. I stand by my opinions make your choice goddess." She challenged not breaking eye contact. Selene felt awful, but she was going to get the answers she wanted no matter what. She knew that if it came down to it she'd be able to protect her son Orland, but she didn't want it to come to that. "You are a goddess, this choice is up to you use your power or admit that you are wrong." Selene added to increase the weight of her words. She didn't fully know how dedicated Elowen was to Hyo and therefore doubted the possibility of Elowen truly trying to harm her, she expected to get more ranting about their connection instead.
"Do I look like I am going to change my choice?!" Elowen roared, this was the last straw. "But since you put the choice out there, and if you are a spy, asking me all these questions my only choice is to kill you wouldn't it?" She came up to Selene, taking her by the neck and raising her, making Selene collide roughly in a rock. She did not care for her son or whatever family relations Selene had, mercy was not part of Elowen's vocabulary. "I have lived my life based on hell, my choice is mine and mine alone." She said menacingly. "Who sent you? If you are by means a spy I gladly invite you to tell me." She pressed on Selene's neck, her armored claws coming out and digging themselves in the rock as if it was nothing but soft cheese.
Selene's eyes widened in shock, she hadn't expected Elowen to truly try and harm her, but once the surprise wore off instinct took over. Selene's combat instinct was the same as it had been long ago as she hadn't truly fought for who knew how long. A small magenta light appeared in the small space between them, its light was warm, but powerful. With a sudden bright flash the small light erupted into the massive ethereal visage a seven petals flower, a dominating magenta light filling the ruins. It was just the centre and petals floating without a stem, facing directly at Elowen who was forced a good ways back. Selene was still recouping for a moment before realising what she had done. It wasn't just any defence she had thrown up, it was Rho Ais, a shield unique to the mother of creation and destruction herself, Selene. Using it was a blatant give away and she could only stare as Rho Ais slowly dissipated into thousands upon thousands of little floating pink lights. "I-I..." She stammered unsure of what to do. She may as well have just told her who she was by using Rho Ais. There was no explanation to be made she couldn't hide the truth after using that particular Magic. All she could do was wait for Elowen's reaction.
Elowen sat up, shacking some dust from her hair. "Just as I guessed, the lost goddess." She stood up and brushed herself off, not a scratch on her. "If you say that you can speak your opinions so can I, you left us, in the dust, us gods, hiding, and for what? Cowardly, you could probably stop this war, and this is coming from the war goddess herself, you are their mother." She shook her head, she had wondered why a mortal would care for the gods' quarrelings, though many of them were the woman seemed much more than a human. Her power had roiled off her, and preserving it must have been hard.
((I had a burst of inspiration, my posts will proceed to decrease in size after this..."))
Selene recomposed herself, Elowen knew so there would be no reason to try and hide it. Selene closed her eyes, disappointed in herself for giving herself away so quickly. The form she was in wasted a bit of power to maintain so she let it go revealing her godly form. Her hair was allowed to lay loosely in perfectly straight deep violet tresses and her outfit was replaced by a pink and green dress, around her head the crescent device. She opened her eyes, a mystifying violet, vibrant yet dark, a feature whose beauty was revered. One thing seemed off... Tears. She had a very faint smile on her face, but she was crying, something that seemed unusual coming from such an ancient being.
"Is that what you think?" She questioned, her tone now soft, far from the serious voice she had been using previously. Selene's voice had a quality, most voices had a quality of reverberation that added certain extra layer to it, but Selene's voice was perfectly smooth, it wasn't affected by anything, but her initial forming of the words. She looked to Elowen tears still in her eyes. "I was imprisoned in a nothingness, void of any existence other than myself in a timeless realm where everything was empty. I was alone for an indeterminably long period, the feeling of emptiness overwhelming everything else... I was stripped of my free will, I could barely bring myself to act..." She told Elowen solemnly. This was a story she hadn't had to tell for billions of years, yet here she was.
"Hell and Purgatory together would pale in comparison, at least there you'd feel something, you'd be serving a purpose, Limbo would seem full and vibrant, but from this I pushed through the feeling of absolute loss and emptiness and created others like myself... My children." She continued, smiling at the thought of her children, they were her pride and joy, everything she could have asked for. Selene loved them more than anything, she would gladly die for them. "If it would help them I would gladly return to that nothingness, but not helping hurts me more than even that... I can't always step in, this is their world, they created it, there is a limit to my power and I may not always be here, immortality or not. If I try to help then I'll be expected to help every single time and whilst I am their mother one of my hardest jobs is to let them learn things for themselves." She explained, clearly quite adamant about her choice.
"I don't care if you think me a coward, but all I would like you to know is that I meant no disrespect to Hyo, he is my son, I love him, it would be impossible for me to truly turn against him... I wanted to try and see what I could learn about him, until now it has been impossible for me to make sure he was okay and as much as I care for this world, I'm glad he has someone like you who cares for him so much..." She finished, overcome by a feeling of failure, she felt as though she had failed him, but she couldn't change that. Selene was never a warrior, never some stone cold goddess, but she was a mother and so she wasn't afraid to show her emotions unless it was in front of her children. It was clear she was leagues beyond upset, yet she was still smiling ever so slightly smiling, happy to at least know Hyo was okay.
Elowen stood there with her arms folded, but her brows had stopped its crease, what she and the goddess had in common was the knowing of the great feeling of loneliness, Elowen remembered how hoarse her voice was from years and years of disuse when Hyo had found her. She walked up to the goddess and hugged her, she was basically her mother in a way too, since she made the gods. Even though Elowen's armor was rough and spiky it did not feel that way if she didn't want it to, she leased the rough thorns, making them dwindle enough so it wouldn't stab where the goddess's skin was. Elowen's heels made her stand even more taller in height, though she was quite tall already she met face to face with Selene.
Selene hadn't expected such a change in attitude, but she welcomed it nonetheless. Any act of kindness was acceptable after coming out with all of that ranting. She embraced Elowen, somewhat surprised to not have felt spikes poking her, but she assumed that it related to some sort of magic. Selene looked up at the sky, the crescent piece moving to accommodate her motion. "Tell me, how is he?" She asked vaguely, her tone weaker than before. "Hyo." She affirmed knowing that just saying "he" was rather far from being clear and was a touch evasive. If she could hear about how he was then her mind would be put at ease.
Elowen nodded her head from the hug, stepping back. It was already very weird for her to do such a thing, especially when she'd have to search her memories for the last time she did such a thing. It was already awkward as it was. "Recovering." She replied to Selene's question, though Hyo was still stuck in that dreaded hole they put him in he was recovering, however slowly or quickly it was. And now that Elowen recovered her thoughts yes Selene had been trapped in the void but now she wasn't and hiding like this wasn't making it any easier. The world was how it was, but now it's different and has to go on as it is.
((Sorry, school started up which meant I was hit by a wave of things to do, I should be back on as usual later in the week. Anywho, I'm a tad tired so this will be a bit short.))
Selene recollected herself, her posture becoming more refined and her expression now calm and serene like a placid sea. "Recovering." She repeated almost as though she were testing to see if the word was real. "Very well then, I suppose that in itself causes no harm..." She responded hoping that within times to come Hyo would change his mind about all this violence. She loved him, but the downside to him being unsealed was that he would be free to wrought destruction upon the world and in that case Ryo would intervene and things would only get worse from that point on.

She loved him, but the downside to him being unsealed was that he would be free to wrought destruction upon the world and in that case Ryo would intervene and things would only get worse from that point on.
"Yes, recovering." Elowen said, a bit worriedly. She was loyal to Hyo in every way, he had been a kind of idol to her. She wished he would get better but sometimes even she had second thoughts about violence but she always remembered her days alone. How everything cruel had happened to her. She nodded to Selene, but her eyes wandered among the hilltops of the trees, tall as they were, mist coiling between the leaves and bushes.
Selene was glad to know Hyo was doing well, however, she disliked the thought of everything being destroyed. She noticed that Elowen's gaze had drifted to the tops of trees and hills. The mist was floating lazily between the spaces leaving little, but the highest points visible. There was a reason it was such a lovely place to find inspiration, it held character that could be found in few other places. Creation was a fickle thing and Feywild went to show that, once filled with people I now laid in ruin, broken and uninhabited for centuries. At the same time the same could be said about destruction, with a wave of her hand she could restore it to its former glory and undo the destruction. "Isn't it curious how this once once the home of an entire civilization?" She asked, wondering what Elowen thought of it.
"It can be, though I'm not much good with geography or history it's nice to wonder what lingered here." Elowen slid her back to Selene. Settling back to the stone. "So tell me, what are you going to do? Surely not stay here and only watch as things get nasty. And what about your son? Isn't he a God? Or a Demi-God maybe?" Elowen had many questions running in her mind, twirling about like ballerina's. She thought it an honor to meet the Goddess of Creation, maybe even head what her story was about. She put her fist on her chin, propping her face up to look at the Goddesses in interest, ready to listen if needed.
Selene's face was sullen, distraught by how things could go. "There is little I can do, I create, not destroy nor fight and words can only carry me so far," Selene explained. She was not made for war, in truth, she really wasn't overly capable of changing the course of the conflict. "As for Orland, he is half god, half elf, but he shan't know of it, it could only cause trouble for him, I don't want him putting himself in a position he is not ready for." She told Elowen. Orland was helpless compared to her other children and as such, she would do whatever it took to protect him even if that meant bringing down an entire realm to do so.
Elowen's face turned thoughtful. "And when he turns fifty or so and still doesn't age? What then? Why not tell him, keeping things from your own son won't make it any easier for him to find out that when he gets a wife and she dues, and he only watches while everyone around him that is human aging." Elowen either way thought that she should tell him, his own mother she meant, coming out from someone else might make a conflict start. Though Elowen's tastes for destruction were there too.
Selene had thought ahead far more than fifty years, she had planned all that was to one day come. "He is half-elf, it will seem no more than commonplace for him to not age." She responded cooly, knowing how things would go down in his life. "No one knows who I am, you alone have figured it out through attacking me, had you not been special to Hyo I would not be able to let you have another chance to merely think of my existence," Selene informed her quite seriously. Her words were true if one person knew there was too much possibility of someone spilling the word of her presence in the world.
"And if he finds out somehow? He'd be mad I assume, much more angrier than anything, there are many possibilities, and that he might have powers more than the typical elves." Elowen leaned back, making an apple appear, chewing on it with some thought. The mists still hung in the air, they would till long, these were the mountains, and this was quite the day for mists and rain. She wondered what this son looked like, Elowen always wondered about appearances, faces, hair, height, it interested her. But her thoughts turned to Hyo, he would probably know if she was lying to him, though she remembered times where Elowen actually got away with some of her lies, it could work.
Selene sighed, "I am not a fool..." She responded wistfully, allowing her hands to rest at her sides lightly grazing the fine fabrics of her dress. "Many people in this world have incredible powers beyond those of their species. Orland will never have a reason for his powers to fully emerge, small emergences can be explained as an unusual power with unknown effects." She informed Elowen calmly, her tone soft and warm. Selene had planned for every eventuality, she was a writer, after all, foresight was her forte. "Orland is my youngest child, he is smart, kind and pure, it is my duty as his mother to ensure that nothing can change that, come hell or high water, the love of Ryo or the wrath of Hyo, I would construct an entire world just for him if it was made necessary," Selene spoke, not wavering in her devotion to her son, who in relativity to his older siblings was less than a baby. In her mind that was what he was, her baby, she treated him as he wanted to be treated, but in her heart, he can never stop being her baby.
"Yes but why not tell him of his heritage, it would be better to come from his mother, and now it is time, he does not have to volunteer for war." Elowen shook her head and sighed. She simply didn't understand, the very creator of this world now seemed like a coward, she would not come out of hiding, spending her days in comfort while the other Gods were either in trouble or otherwise acting like bored children.
Selene was bothered by how much Elowen had questioned her methods, Selene did what she knew to be best, the world was not hers, she played no part herself, she did what she could to direct things in the start, but it never paid off, she left Vander, her high priest behind to play her role, no one knew her better than he did and he would make her will known without her having to be there herself. She detested having to choose sides, it was like asking any other mother to choose a favourite child, instead of having to live a life in which no one got anywhere she could at least try to enjoy her life. She spent her days without the worry of being dragged into a divine conflict with a man she loved and a son who she adored.
"Tell me, are you a mother?" She asked her calmly not making eye contact with her brow lowered. "Have you ever loved someone so much that nothing, no matter what could mean as much to you as they do? Held the value of each hair on their head above that of your own life? My son is no more than a child of eleven years, unable to defend himself or keep himself safe, I would give away anything and everything and if the time comes where it is required for his safety he will know, to protect him, but until then I want to keep him out of a world where almighty beings rain hellfire from the sky when they are bored. I want him to be as far from anything like that as possible and any mother would be able to understand that wish." She ranted, picturing her son in her mind. A small boy with hair such a light shade of blonde it looked silver and eyes so brilliantly blue it was as if the skies and seas had been imprisoned within them. He was fair as snow with a smile that set entire realms aglow. Realms she would end if it meant keeping him safe.
