There is nothing in the universe the cursed dragon, Falcyn, hates more than humanity . . . and in particular, Greek humans. In a war he wanted no part of, they systematically destroyed everything he’d ever cared for. Now he lies in seclusion, away from the world and waits for the day when evolution will finally rid him of the human vermin.

Medea was born the granddaughter of the Greek god Apollo, and among the first of his people that he cursed to die. But she will not let anyone rule her life. Not even her notorious grandfather. And when Apollo sends a new plague to destroy what remains of her people, she refuses to standby and watch him take everything she loves from her again.

This time, she knows of a secret weapon that can stop the ancient god and his army of demons. Once and for all. However, said device is in the hands of a dragon who wants nothing to do with politics, the gods, humanity, demons or Greek Apollites. And especially not her. He is the immovable object.

My enemy’s enemy . . .

When Apollo makes a strategic move that backfires, he forces Falcyn back into play. Now Medea either has the weapon she needs to save her people, or she’s unleashed total Armageddon. If she can’t find some way to control the dragon before it’s too late, Falcyn will be an even worse plague on the world than the one Apollo has set loose. But how can anyone control a demonic dragon whose sole birthright is total destruction?

Holy Toledo, I'm only a third of the way through the book so far, and already the info dump is AWESOME! Definitely some real twists and turns that I didn't see coming! =)

First of I think we all saw the (view spoiler)[Noir being Falcyn's father thing coming. At least I was 80% sure of it.
Apparently, there were 7 Primal Gods not 6. With Falcyn's mother, Lilith, being one of them. After Lilith tried to cozy up with Noir, Azura did not take well to that and she cursed her.
Falcyn is the first born dragon and he is Maddor's father who in turn is Blaise's father (Total mind bomb right!!!).

Kissare has already been reborn!!! Appolymi thought that Archon was his incarnation and that is why she married him.
Apparently, the reborn Kissare told Appolymi who he was BUT she wouldn't believe him because of Archon's lies. Archon had a little birdie that told him things about Kissare and Pol (wanna bet the birdie was Azura or Noir *side eye*).
Kissare is apparently the leader of the Charonte demons (at least he was in his first life) which is how Appolymi was able to "enslave" them). This could maybe explain the part about Ash being part Charonte.
(Could Savitar be Kissare reborn???:O).

Phoebe is alive! She just became a bloodthirsty crazy monster..... Stryker had her locked up because he didn't want Urian to feel guilty about it. Remember how Urian only killed bad humans. His blood proofed too much for Phoebe and it poisoned her.

These were the biggest wow moments for me.

With Shadow being on his side about what went down at the PB and all. Further I wonder why they havent mentioned Xevikan in the DH series yet. Maybe because he is still hiding with Nick?

Hello, I'm new to the group, but have been a fan for a few years.

I found this book to be fast pace and a lot of info. was dropped.

One thing out I noticed was

(view spoiler)[ Apollo talks about a prophecy, and how he believes the one to cause the end of the world comes from Styxx's Line, not Ash's. I know this seems to be a set-up for Urian's book but knowing Mrs. Kenyon, I cant help but think about a theory.

I'm thinking this might have something to do with Kody and Nick from CON...She is a part of Styxx's line, same as Urian. But she also seems to fulfill the whole reincarnation bit that comes with the Malachai prophecy. Think it might all be connected somehow? (hide spoiler)]

That's what I thought, (view spoiler)[when Apollo said that it was Styxx line that would cause the end of the world, my first thought was Kody, but I guess we'll get more info in Urian's book ( which I'm dying for, I can't believe Phoebe is back)

Finished the book, absolutely LOVED it! =)

I think one of my favorite aspects of the book was that Medea is not a typical romance heroine. She's not a good girl who is simply misunderstood; we get to see what makes her tick so to speak, and she proudly admits that she is a villain. ;) Overall, I gotta say that I really liked her after this book. =)

Also loved, loved, loved Falcyn, surly asshole that he is. XD

Brogan--from the description of her in the book, her character pic on the site simply doesn't do her justice, IMO. And can we just take a moment to say ... AWWWWWW! (view spoiler)[Brogan and Blaise ... too cute! (hide spoiler)]

So ... I take it I'm the only one who squealed like a teenage fangirl after the epilogue? (view spoiler)[ seriously, it looks like we'll FINALLY get to meet Xander and Kit! About time, too. ;) (hide spoiler)]

Apollo -- good grief, I swear he becomes an even bigger asshole with each book.

Wanted to mention a couple of things here--

1) Kaziel is indeed connected to Lords of Avalon. In fact, it's his book in the LOA series that was backburnered for the time being.

2) (view spoiler)[ The prophecy mentioned by Apollo states that the fate of the world rests with the bloodline of Styxx's family. This doesn't necessarily mean that said bloodline will end the world; rather, it could mean that balance could be restored. Which would certainly apply to Kody, if she and Nick manage to hook up in the future. (hide spoiler)]

"The final fate of the world—of all humanity—wasn’t really in the hands of Acheron, or even Apollymi.
It was actually in the bloodline of Styxx’s family."

So what you said about the balance being restored might be right.

I got 80ish pages read yesterday, but spent today getting 2 other books out of the way. Tomorrow will be dedicated to .

And the family trees will need updating again, might hold off til the next CoN book is out though.

Oh my god, I didn't even realise it when I read it but you're right! Hey guys, when Falcyn was (view spoiler)[ threatening Apollymi in Kalosis, he was totally hinting that he knew who Kissare was, right? I mean, he said he would pierce her heart, but not the one in her chest, the one out of her reach in the mortal realm. Plus he knew that story about how the Charonte became enslave to her, which was about her reunion with Kissare, so... (hide spoiler)]

If the Final Fate is Kody or has something to do with Kody and Nick, then I don't get how having Phoebe (and leverage over Urian) will help him.

Unless he's planning on using Urian to draw out Kody from wherever she ended up after CON. I mean, she did go back in time and almost killed the Malachai because she thought it woud save her brothers. Maybe Apollo knows that and wants to use Urian (who is the key to killing 4 other members of her family) as bait.

Either that or his powers only tell him enough to know that the Final Fate is in Styxx's bloodline and he really does think that's Urian, because of all the pantheons and people his life is tied to. Though I don't know how he coud know that without also knowing who the Final Fate really is. (hide spoiler)]

About Dagon: (view spoiler)[ Ok, is it just me or is it weird that Falcyn didn't seem all that upset with his brother? I mean, he barely mentioned him, but the way he talked about his big brother duty to give him shit... it didn't exactly scream outrage over Dagon's treatment of Illarion and Maxis, right? Dagon caged them and experimented on them and made them half-human basically and Falcyn loathes humans so that has to be particularly repugnant for him... and yet, nothing. I really didn't expect them to be on such good terms (or the surly-dragon equivalent of good terms) (hide spoiler)]

I'm thinking this could be what happens to Kody after CON. I mean, she's in hot waters with her bosses right? They're a bit busy fighting a civil war, but maybe they'll take away her visiting priveledges and take that borrowed body back. She'll have to leave the mortal realm. She might end up in the Arel dimension or, as a ghost, in the between, or maybe she'll just be drawn into the body of her future self who will wake up one day with her memories. (hide spoiler)]

I like your theory. It makes a lot of sense, but where does the "a soul for a soul" part come in?

Someone remind me who Kissare is? I think its a CoN character, but theres hundreds of chars to keep track of. Not to mention all therir alternate names.

He's Braith/Apollymi lover and the father of her first born, Monakribos - the first Malachai.

Yeah it feels like that too. Which book end was that mentioned in? Was it Styxx cuz I know that Acheron talked about Tiva and Zev in that book when Arik was talking about how the timeline changed somehow.

I feel like we got a bit off topic, but I really liked this book. I honestly didn't thought I would be that interested in reading about Stryker's daughter, but the relationship between Medea and Falcyn was really good, I actually believe them as a couple.
My only problem was that there were so many new characters, and I'm still not sure about the whole crossover with LoA as it gets a little confusing (I guess is in preparation for Nick's books, but still) even after three books.

Anyway I'm dying to read more about Phoebe and Urian next year and I feel in love with Brynna in the CoN books, so I'm excited to see her as well.

Actually, I believe the Echidna threat was defused (at least temporarily) after Nala, the queen of Seraphina's tribe, was defeated and voted out of power. No one else in the tribe wanted to get involved with Kessar's plans.

Incidentally, the epilogue of SONO is when the Echidna threat was first mentioned. ;)

Just because there is a prophecy doesn't mean it'll turn out *exactly* as described. One tiny ripple or change in the threads leading to <...event> and <...event> can't happen.

Just like Ash seeing people's futures, Nick was supposed to marry a Devereaux, and instead he's a pissed off demon whose future wife, and mother are now dead.

Gotta say I loved this book which was something I didn't think would happen since it was about Stryker's daughter but after reading it, it really made me understand her more and even like her, and the amount of info we got this time made it even better

Ok, just went through some Dragonbane notes, and based on a line from Dragonsworn, I've got a new theory about what Sav was appologizing to Apollymi for.

So Sav's people created the Charonte, Polly though Kissare was Archon due to his lies, but it appears that Kissare may have been reborn as a Charonte...Sav's messed with time before...Maybe he made sure Kissare was reborn as a Charonte and something went wrong... (hide spoiler)]

About the gods: (view spoiler)[ Let's remember that Falcyn, for all his knowledge, was still born after the Primal Gods, so whatever he knows about their birth is second-hand knowledge.

I believe Lilith might have been significantly weakened by that fall right after her birth. It might have also left her vulnerable to the others. It's possible she lost most of her power early on meaning that her switching to one side or the other doesn't have the weight of a fully powered-up Primal God and doesn't really affect the balance of the universe.

Also, since there is apparently so much debate among the gods as to who came first, maybe it has something to do with how the other six supposedly fall into the Light/Dark and Order/Chaos camps. Maybe the first of the seven was supposed to maintain the balance or have some power over the others as some sort of neutral autority. Shyamala does not strike me as ever having been ambivalent about her role in the universe as an evil vilain, so I'm thinking Falcyn might have the wrong info about the birth order (hide spoiler)]

I still have second half of the last chapter and epilogue to go. Who Davyn said was feeding on him is the first time in my life I've actually said "NO WAY!!!" out loud while reading. I want Battle Born RIGHT THIS FREAKIN' SECOND!!!!!

We still don't know why he believes so ardently that he deserves worse than Zephyra ever unleashed on him. If it's related to anything with Ash in addition to Monakribos, no wonder he thinks he deserves it. And that would've made Apollymi all the more reluctant to believe who Kissare was reborn as.
