I finished this days ago - so maybe I should get my butt in gear and start a discussion!

I loved this book - it has been added to my favorites.

The story is humor, and pokes fun at pop culture TV Sci-fi, but I thought he did a good job of combining it with some emotional twists and turns, too.

Also, (view spoiler)[ I thought it was great when the story completely switched directions in the middle and they had to come to modern day earth to stop production of the show so they don't all die. I didn't see it coming - very cool twist (hide spoiler)]

Another funny thing is that often complaints about sci-fi is that the science is crap, but he says that right up front in this book! So, when things happen that don't make scientific sense, he has all his bases covered! :)

Unfortunately I won't get to this book for another week or two. But I am going on a relaxation vacation next week (woo-hoo!) so I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done. I'm going to bring it with me just in case. :) I haven't looked at your spoiler but it sounds good from the way you describe it.

OMG I thought this book was so good!! I absolutely loved the humor I didn't want to put it down! As with all sci-fi stuff that goes over my head, I didn't understand how some of that was able to happen but hey.....who am I to question? Lol!

What did you think of the shift in direction part way through the book. I did not see it coming and at that point the book really clicked for me. The book was great before that - then it became awesome!

Yeah that totally threw me when the shift came in the book. I have to admit at first I was like wait a minute, I was on such a high with the humor and pace of the first part that I wasn't sure I was liking it at first. But by the end I thought it was great! I don't know if this is a spoiler but (view spoiler)[ I did like how instead of books just ending and you have to come up with your own epilogues this one completes it for you (hide spoiler)]

I did like the (view spoiler)[ Codas at the end a lot. I saw some complaints about them, but I thought they only made it better! (hide spoiler)]
