Kirsten, I will check these books out! Thank you!
For time travel...Paper Girls, Vol. 1 does fascinating things with time travel, though it's about paper girls from the '80s who time travel to the present day.
I assume you're already looking at the Outlander series? And A Wrinkle in Time? Those are the obvious ones.
The Girl from Everywhere is great.
Landline is an interesting story with a protagonist who discovers she can call the past on a certain landline phone and talk to her now-husband before they got married.
Also the Deborah Harness books which start with A Discovery of Witches. Ignore that there are witches and vampires in them, because they are incredible time slip novels utilising specific articles to go back in time.

Some of the best time travel books ever written are by sci fi writer Connie Willis. From a serious perspective is The Doomsday Book, in which people from slightly in the future in London travel back to Oxford but get the settings wrong and end up in the middle of the Black Plague; and from a humorous perspective, there's To Say Nothing of the Dog, which is some of the same characters but involves traveling to the past to check the details for a restoration of a cathedral they're doing, and reads like a French farce--almost think Wodehouse but with time travel. She also wrote a couple other time travel books, called Blackout and All Clear, set in London during the Blitz, that are actually two halves of the same giant novel, and are likewise pretty good, but I'd read the others first.
Here is a list of some others I really liked:
BUTLER, Kindred
CRICHTON, Timeline
NIFFENEGGER, The Time Traveler’s Wife
NORTON, Time Traders, Echoes in Time
PALMA, The Map of the Sky, The Map of Time
And some young adult novels involving time travel (there are many more, but these are pretty good):
BYNG, Molly Moon’s Hypnotic Time Travel Adventure
CARD, Pathfinder, Ruins
FISHER, Obsidian Mirror
GIER, Emerald Green, Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue
HAUTMAN, Mr. Was
MONIR, Timeless
SCARROW, Day of the Predator (Time Riders)
SHULMAN, The Wells Bequest
SMITH, The Chronal Engine
STONE, Time Between Us, Time After Time
For invisibility:
BARNES, Nobody
STEWART, The Secret Keepers
Melliot,Wow! So many to look at now! Thank you for these thoughtful answers! The one about the cathedral restoration has my interest. . .

1) TIME TRAVEL. I'm particularly looking for unique takes on this and even more specifically, time travel to the past.
2) EXPANSION. Use your imagination here. Character's growing. Objects growing.
3) INVISIBILITY. I'm particularly interested in characters who use their invisibility for evil.
Any and all help/recommendations appreciated!
