Optional Add'l Info to Share:
Did you find it fun or was it more of a chore to complete? reading is always fun but I found it very hard to stay focused on only reading for 24 straight hours
Is this your first time participating in a Read-a-Thon? If so, would you participate again or was once is enough? If not, how did this year's RAT compare? This was my second RaT. I got a lot more read last time. It seems to go better for me if I do 8 hour chunks than 24 straight hours.
Did you choose RAT books in advance? If so, were you able to read all of the books you'd set aside? I did choose my books in advance and I got to read all of them I'd picked for this RaT. I judged accurately on how much I could get read during that time.
Did you have a favorite reading spot? I like to read snuggled in my 6ft bean bag chair/bed with my dogs
Did you find it difficult to stick to your reading schedule? If so, how'd ya overcome it? It was very difficult to stick to the schedule. I only managed it by reminding myself that I was at the end of the month and hadn't done it yet.
Did you discover a new series, author or genre? No
Did you read alone or with partner? alone
Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT? Audio, Paperback/Hardcover (DTB), or eBook OR did you use a mix of formats? ebook only (kindle)
Final thoughts: I enjoy the RaTs but I won't try and do 24 hours straight again. It was too hard. My mind kept wandering to other things. I find that I enjoy a little break between books to do something else and missed that this RaT. I think I will stick to the 8 hour days next time.

Moondance (moondance120) | 2141 comments Number of days/hours spent reading 10 days/24 hours
Number and/or list of books read 8.5 books
The Opposite of Wild (Clover Park, #1) by Kylie Gilmore Daisy Does It All (Clover Park, #2) by Kylie Gilmore Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels, #7) by Ilona Andrews The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo (Love at Stake, #14) by Kerrelyn Sparks Gunmetal Magic (Kate Daniels, #5.5) by Ilona Andrews Sixth Grave on the Edge (Charley Davidson, #6) by Darynda Jones Magic Gifts (Kate Daniels, #5.4) by Ilona Andrews Tarnished Beginnings Historical Shifter Fantasy (Soul Dance Book 1) by Ann Gimpel The Spider (Elemental Assassin, #10) by Jennifer Estep

I'm still reading The Spider

Number of pages read 2304 pages

Did you find it fun or was it more of a chore to complete? Reading was a shining light in my life this past month. I had so much going on with my family and myself that losing myself in a book was the best escape.

Is this your first time participating in a Read-a-Thon? If so, would you participate again or was once is enough? If not, how did this year's RAT compare? No, I have done several. I didn't read as much as I had planned. I will definitely do it again!

Did you choose RAT books in advance? If so, were you able to read all of the books you'd set aside? I had a few books in mind but mostly used some that I needed for other challenges.

Did you have a favorite reading spot? The corner of my sofa with a couple of kitties on my lap

Did you find it difficult to stick to your reading schedule? If so, how'd ya overcome it? I did have trouble sticking to a schedule this year. Good thing I have insomnia!

Did you discover a new series, author or genre? I've never read Ann Gimpel. The Soul Dance series sounds intriguing.

Did you read alone or with partner? Does alone count if you have furry creatures draped all over?

Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT? Audio, Paperback/Hardcover (DTB), or eBook OR did you use a mix of formats? I read paperbacks, hardcovers and Kindle. No audio this go round.

✓ Did you find it fun or was it more of a chore to complete? -
This year the RAT was a bit more challenging for me. Rather than regular long swaths of reading, I seem to be reading more and more in smaller bits.
✓ Is this your first time participating in a Read-a-Thon? If so, would you participate again or was once is enough? If not, how did this year's RAT compare? -
NOT my first RAT. :-) I plan to keep participating.
✓ Did you choose RAT books in advance? If so, were you able to read all of the books you'd set aside? -
Nope, I just read whatever I was my next read.
✓ Did you have a favorite reading spot? -
Curled up in bed.
✓ Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT? -
All ebook this time. Audiobooks have become almost a constant soundtrack for my life, I wanted to pay more attention to my actual, visual reading time.
