Katie (cupikate) Oh milk and honey how sweet and silky you were. Jk this book of poems went a completely different direction than the one I thought it would. Some of the poems I actually did like but I loved the books layout the most. The hardcover came with a shoe string like book mark which I absolutely loved. As for the poems... I have mixed feelings. Let me know what you guys thing and what your favor poem was

I read it online so I didn't get to see the pretty cover, but I liked parts of the poems. Some of the parts struck me, but not a lasting impression. I did like the art.

I wasn't molested by my father so I couldn't related to that portion. I am not saying I didn't feel upset about it and wanted to punch the guy, it just didn't hit that chord like it should have. Maybe if I read it now I might go crazy. but the love/heartbreak part felt immature to me. I think I felt those feelings when I was in high school. I did like the healing chapter the most. I think there was a lot of power in the section.

At the end maybe a little overrated. I did like the feminist feel and would like to read more feminist poetry. I gave it 3 stars.

Katie (cupikate) The feminism actually turned me away from it. Personally not a fan of blunt expression of favoritism be that gender, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, or etc.

The abuse and adolescent approach to the writing would have been very relatable to my youth. In the interlude the author explained why she chose her writing style (lowercase and periods only); I really appreciated the explanation to her approach. It gave a better understanding of her culture and the author as a person.

I thought we were friends Katie! You must like what I like! I am kidding. I get that. I like the bluntness.

I didn't see that reasoning. That would of been interesting. Maybe I skipped it.

Katie (cupikate) That's what keeps our friendship! Subtle differences otherwise you would have read Lolita already lol

Maybe your online book didn't have it? I'll just lend it to you so you can see the begin if you want. It's only like 3 pages or so

Maybe or I skipped it which is possible.
