I usually love legal thrillers, but this one seemed to drag a bit. There was way too much detail in the testimony for me. It took me almost a week to read this book.
The courtroom testimony didn't bother me as I was really trying to decide if Lucy was guilty and it helped. What disappointed me was Mickey continuing to question himself. He needs to get off the stick or embrace the career he's selected. Maggie may not like the side he represents but seems to love and respect him. He needs to MOVE ON!
In my mind, the relationship problem is Maggie's problem. You can't change who people are. You either accept them or don't. She's going to have to decide if him being a defense attorney is a deal breaker. (Even if he runs for DA and wins, I don't think it will stick. In his heart, he's a defense attorney.)
Totally agree. I meant that Mickey has to decide whether he's going to continue trying to change for her. I say no as she'll take him as he is.
