Dark Harvest by Norman Partridge.
A very appropriate Halloween story. Cause it's about Halloween. Hehe. Also very Gothic. Not so much horror.
I love HALLOWEEN!

Moura; it's a scary Gothic novel. My daughter's favorite holiday was Halloween.
New Orleans loves this holiday, too.
It didn't win last month but that's no reason to not try again. I nominate The Tale of Raw Head and Bloody Bones by Jack Wolf.
Torture pornish? I wasn't aware it was seen that way. From reading the synopsis it sounds dark and twisted and similar to a Jack the Ripper type story but from his perspective. I didn't take it for erotica and as far as I know it isn't labeled as such. Otherwise I wouldn't have suggested it.
I just looked a little deeper bc the synopsis confused me a bit. But you are right, I think about the Jack The Ripper Part. I read some reviews.
It's ok. No worries ;)

It's about a brilliant surgeon fighting his sadist impulses but 130+ years before Jack the Ripper hit London. Jack the Ripper went on his spree in the late 1880's and this story is set in the early 1750's. I love anything and everything old and I am fascinated by the 1600-1700's. So even if it doesn't win, it is still going to be on my reading list :)
Skye, I will let your Nom stand this time but Modern denotes that it be written within the last 30 years.

Sounds really good. Reminds me of Crimson Peak.

Old is good. Scary is good. Old and scary is even better.

Trinity wrote: "Loved stories about Jack the Ripper. Also, the title, are they introducing Fae into this?"Fae? I honestly have no idea. I guess we'll have to read it and find out :)
Shaina wrote: "Poll set up yet? I only got the classic invite."Yeah. It's there. Just click on polls :)
If you just have the app there is no polls. Would someone please leave me a link to the modern ?
