Hemingway had literary problems with the structure of his novels. I believe LG or Ruth agrees with me on that. But his sss, now those were something else. Only Checkov is his match an Dorothy Parker close by.
My art challenge for September is Michelangelo and the Pope's CeilingI like reading about the Italian quartocentro, but I do find them challenging because of the vast number of Italian names that I don't know; I have found it in other books too, I almost need to take notes to figure out who is who sometimes.
Annnd... It's done; pretty formidable.

While I enjoyed it and it has advanced my knowledge of the subject a lot, and it is very nicely written with scholarly accuracy, wit and humour, I do have to admit this book would not be for everyone.
Four stars
I'm proud of myself! I actually started and finished a single book in one month!I finished Choose Higher Ground
This is an art group, and this book is not art related in any way, so I won't go into details with a review. I will just say I thoroughly enjoyed it, well enough to finish it more quickly than others!
4.5 stars
(Is it Lance that started the 'star' assignment?) Pretty cool, I would like to follow suit.

So how are we doing? The year is getting to be over and it seems like we just made ourselves challenges. Well, I will speak for myself, that is how I feel anyway.
I have enjoyed my two books actually completed but I'm still getting around to writing reviews. As in the case with art, I do not do well in writing, either. Those reviews may or may not come. I'm not making any promises. But I did enjoy the books
Jesus the Christ with Live Index
and
Phantoms in the Brain: Probing the Mysteries of the Human Mind
