I hadn't heard of Hamid until Exit West (which I loved) so I was excited to read more of his work. This tells the story of a young Pakistani man who comes to the US for school and gets sort of Americanized. He falls in love with troubled American girl, gets an American job and is living the life.

He has an epiphany of sorts at a certain point, and makes some changes in his life.

The narrative structure was unique and worked really well. It was also especially suited to audio and the narrator was terrific. Really enjoyed it.

Denizen (den13) | 1138 comments I thought it was well done, also. I'm planning to read How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia for the next Hamid.
