READ THIS BOOK GUYS, BUT NOT ONLY THIS BUT ALL THE BOOKS OF TAHEREH MAFI. THOSE BOOKS ARE AMAZING.ONE OF THE SMARTEST TRILOGY I EVER READ.
I READ THE BOOKS LAST YEAR AND RIGHT NOW I AM STILL INLOVE WITH THE CHARACTERS AND THE STORY ITSELF. I WAS ABLE TO MEET THE THE AUTHOR AND SHE WAS AMAZING. YOU WILL SURELY FEEL THE-CAN'T-GET-OVER-IT MOMENT.
I love this book series Tahereh Mafi writes so beautifully, the way in the first two books loads of stuff was crossed out cause Juliette was still unsure of herself, but in the third one there are no crossing outs cause she is more confident.
and the way everything is described like:
“And we are quotation marks, inverted and upside down, clinging to one another at the end of this life sentence. Trapped by lives we did not choose.”

Does anyone else find the overuse of metaphors and descriptions annoying? I liked the story, but completely disliked the writing style.
I don't find it annoying, I actually really like the writing style. but in the first two books I find Juliette annoying because she just keeps on whining and feeling sorry for herself, in the third book when she finally becomes more confident, it is so much better.
She was whiny in the first books but we have to remember she was alone and scared for a long time. Wouldn't we all feel a little sorry for ourselves?
True. She had the capability to escape but she didn't simply because she was terrified of herself. That's just tragic.
I totally get that she was alone and scared for a long time, but like rishika said, she could escape but she didn't.
Also, if I was locked up in a cell instead of feeling sorry for myself and scared of myself, I would try to escape.
And in frustration, when none of the escape methods would work, I would try to break the wall, even if I knew that it would take ages.
But with Juliette's powers if she had tried to escape she would have.
But then there would have been no book.
