Hello, Jeanenne and Cordelia! I've heard that she speaks just like she writes--very funny and scattered. People seemed to love hearing her.
Hello,I loved the book and really enjoyed her presentations. I had the pleasure of escorting Maria to Mecklenburg County Jail and she spoke to a group of about 30 female inmates. She was amazing. She knew how to reach the audience. She was comical, realistic and inspirational. She even shared her personal contact information so that she can continue to encourage the writers in the group. It was a treat to have this professional opportunity.
I don’t know why, but the idea of a show called “Looper Wash” seeks unrealistic. Yet there are plenty of shows with weird names! Maybe I’ll get used to it, or it’s meaning will be explained.
Spoiler alert...the meaning does get explained. I also thought Looper Wash was a way to tie the book into some of the main stream television shows streamed and viewed today. Also, after listening to the author speak, Looper Wash, the drawings, was a way to involve Semple's daughter in the book. Her teen daughter, Poppy, was paid for her work.
Cordelia-Thank you for reading Today Will Be Different. So glad you are participating in our on line book discussion!
