Tori | 26 comments Here is a list of books that I highly recommend for bookworms!

-The Help
-The Hunger Games Trilogy
-To Kill A Mockingbird
-The Boy Who Sneaks In My Bedroom Window
-A Kiss In Time
-The Fault In Our Stars

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

@Tori OMG THE HELP IS SO AMAZING!! I full-on sobbed at the end. The book was beautiful. I recommend it too if anyone else hasn't read it yet!

message 4: by Alex (new)

Alex (simonsaysreviews) @Tori Yes! The Help and To Kill a Mockingbird are two of my favorite books-both so great!

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't read To Kill A Mockingbird what's it about?

message 6: by Tori (new)

Tori | 26 comments Yes! And the movie is even more sad I thought!
Who were your favorite characters and why?

message 7: by Tori (new)

Tori | 26 comments @natasha its told from the point of view of a little girl who's father is a lawyer who is defending a black man charged for rape of a white woman. It also talks about what mischievous things her brother, her friend that visits in the summer and herself get up to. It is set in the 1920's I think.

message 8: by Jessica (new)

Jessica To kill a mockingbird is a great book. My english class read the book and then watched the movie. It was kind of sad.

message 9: by Alex (new)

Alex (simonsaysreviews) Yeah that's a pretty good summary of TKAM, I had to read it for school, and it was like the only school book I really enjoyed. I loveeee Atticus but I don't know anyone who doesn't. I also really like Boo Radley. The movie did a pretty good job on the adaptation I think.

message 10: by Tori (new)

Tori | 26 comments Atticus is my favourite too. Boo Radley was explained just how I imagine him.
so the movie is worth watching?

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

OK I NEED TO READ IT NOW!!!

message 12: by Alex (new)

Alex (simonsaysreviews) @Tori I enjoyed the movie myself, some of the events in the story were swapped on the timeline but if you havent read the book recently you wouldn't even notice. And Gregory Peck as Atticus is so spot on :3

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved Eragon too! It's one of my favourite all time books, the movie sucked though, I also started the 2nd book and it wasn't nearly as good, I think I put it down as a DNF.

message 14: by Tori (new)

Tori | 26 comments Has anybody here read The Hunger Games series? Thoughts?

message 15: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 03, 2014 02:31AM) (new)

I've read The Hunger Games series and I loved the first one but the 2nd and 3rd were really bad in my opinion. (Don't hate me!) My favourite characters were Rue & Cato.

message 16: by Tori (new)

Tori | 26 comments Really! I enjoyed the first one the most with the second coming close behind but I really didn't enjoy the last one! What draws you to those two characters? (:
I loved Peeta and Finnick

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Rue was adorable and I won't say anything else in case I spoil even though everyone's probably read it by now lol. And Cato was badass and just amazing. I have a feeling I already know why you like Peeta and Finnick but I might be wrong? Why do you like them?

message 18: by Tori (new)

Tori | 26 comments Fair enough, they both have such strong traits (:
Peeta just makes me melt into a puddle on the floor every time he sweet talks Katniss and he's so giving and loyal. He always puts other people first and sees the beauty in everything. And Finnick is so cocky and humorous in a sexy way. Also, he's such a smartass and I love it!

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah Peeta and Finnick are pretty amazing, I was always Team Peeta when it came to Katniss' love interest!

message 20: by Lauren (new)

message 24: by Erin (new)

Erin (eisawesome) I am not, my family thinks holidays are for spending time with other people. But I would suggest books with a summery plot(that is just me, good luck on book finding)

So sorry about that, Deidre :( I've been extremely busy with school this month, and I'm sure Natasha is busy as well. We'll try our hardest to get a challenge up and running for November!
As for right now, if you're looking for a challenge, we can be Copy Cat partners for this month! Why don't you take a look through my read shelf and choose a book to read, and I'll do the same? :)
