King Gizz's latest album...the third one released this year...Sketches of Brunswick East, in collaboration with Mild High Club. Nice 'n' laid back jazzy affair, different from their usual style.
Agrovators Meets The Revolutioners – At Channel One Studios - spelling as it appears on the woeful sleeve, not suitable for the quality inside - both outfits practically contain the same members so how the meet came about is anyone's guess! great and fluent dubbing with the a-team of horn sections in attendance.y'know i'm out of sorts today - the neighbours (lovely people), are having their garden scaped, nice! sitting in living room i commented to miss t.s. 'making a racket out there', to which she quipped 'aye, they're tearing your fence down!' 'yeah, yeah, very amusing' to think no more about it, till i went through to the kitchen a couple of minutes later to be met by the bone crunching sound of my fence (which i made myself, b.t.w.!) being ripped from the post! in a fury i flung open the door 'w.t.f. are you doing with my fence?' 'oh, we've been told to replace it due to decking going down. did no-one tell you?' no. cue rant at contractor! i had to go out soon after, and neighbours have gone away for weekend, so i'm left in a kind of curious nagging limbo, wondering why this had never been mentioned by my, honestly, great neighbours of 20 years! it has been replaced by a bigger, some might say sturdier fence, but i remain in perplexity! i wouldn't have been difficult to deal with if forewarned! anyway...................

I'm not sure that I'd want to go away anywhere while anyone just ran riot through my House and Garden without at least some supervision - LOL! ;o>
A cwappity kind of a night for me and so I'm sat up listening to my latest purchase of the Silhouettes album by Aquilo and also enjoying it very much too.I actually bought it because, despite only knowing the one track of it that was recently used on a new season trailer ad on the Drama Channel, I was intrigued by Aquilo being two young lads from a small place called Silverdale which I always pass through on my frequent Train journeys back and forth through Cumbria.
And now I feel all suitably soothed and dreamy and chilled out I'm off to try and get back to sleep ... x NN x ;o>
Understanding - The Gayladds, a present from techy found in my postbox this afternoon when we got back from Fowey. Great stuff, thanks a lot.
Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence - Blue Oyster Cult, current track:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrd2x...
For my money, one of the best guitar solos ever:-)

Never heard it before, Derek. As a big Hawkwind fan in the seventies/eighties I was pretty miffed when Michael Moorcock defected to BÖC. I did buy Mirrors, featuring Moorcock's The Great Sun Jester, but never got around to any other BÖC albums.
It is a good guitar solo. Probably not your cup of PG Tips but I'd also recommend UFO's live recording of Rock Bottom:

Intrumental break begins around 3:45 (in case you can't stand Phil Mogg's vocals).

I've got that album Gordon but haven't played it for years. I agree it is a cracking guitar solo but I prefer BOC. Not that bothered about Phil Mogg's voice, it's pretty much 'hard rock standard'. I'd rather listen to him than the likes of Glenn Hughes:-)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dirty-Mind-V... - Prince. His initial breakthrough before Purple blew the doors off. Funky smut. Good pressing for £8.99 new.Speaking of doors;

spent time listening to 6music yesterday, where the album of the day was liam gallagher's new one, but i'll tell you what..............it's every bit as tired, predictable, turgid, insipid, pedestrian and puerile as you might expect, but the sad thing is, it will sell in shedloads!
Calm by SPC ECO - Curve with more of a trip hop vibe. Still dark and brooding but not as spiky. Be good for Halloween!

I'd certainly like to shove that infernal and ubiquitous drum machine (he gives it a fancier name) where the sun don't shine and no sound can emerge.
Hello peeps!Trying to do a link to V - The Horrors
https://www.amazon.co.uk/V-Horrors/dp...
It's ok, but unlike most of the reviewers I'm not liking it that much. Maybe it's a bit too poppy/commercial?
Oh, I've temporarily misplaced my melon!!! Do you prefer me unaccompanied/naked, or would you like me to retrieve my melon?😉

You're almost unrecognisable without it
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Return-Sky-V... - Causa Sui. Danish instrumental stoner-ish rock.Then our lass went out so it's up with the volume and on with the 'What's THIS cr@p?' tuneage;
https://www.amazon.co.uk/COUNTER-EURO... - Misty In Roots. Near mint copy I picked up very reasonably, a classic of politically-charged Brit reggae.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rare-Dubs-At... - v/a.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Solida... - Robert Ffrench (as written on cover). Early dancehall reggae.

I did. Slightly worried in case the 'new' versions are in jewel cases rather than the Stylish digipacks. So have ordered Heathen Earth and Sleazy's reworking of Nico's Classic Desertshore. 2nd Annual Report is nla sadly
Tim wrote: "I did. Slightly worried in case the 'new' versions are in jewel cases.........me too! 2nd Annual Report went awol before i could buy it (have the original vinyl tho') but yeah, trainspotters like you and me would worry about the packaging! :) Heathen Earth is magnificent!
A belated blast of TP (RIP) goodness;https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tom-Petty-He... (Hellfire, only cost me £12 with a barely bent corner, my how dying drives prices up).
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Youre-Gonna-... (£9.32 a year ago).
https://www.amazon.co.uk/hard-promise... 35 year old vinyl, mint condition. Mind you didn't get played for 30 years during the misguided cd revolution.

I don't know if there is anyone from the rock, or metal forums, but it's worth a go. I'll just play a random track off Itunes, and see what it is.
