DC on TV discussion

I've been hearing rumors about the possibility of DC combining their new 52 line up with their pre new 52 lineup and I was wondering how everyone feels about this rumor.

So, DC blew up the multiverse and the Newer than New Nu 52 is...the same stuff they were doing before, but with a couple 'humorous' titles thrown in...

So, lots of talk about change, but when push came to shove, nobody wanted to upset Geoff Johns...

Yep, that seems to be what's happening...

I can understand what DC has been trying to do and its commendable. There will always be a "crisis" going on at some point or another, even though they said there wouldn't ever be another crisis. I think that with the writers, a lot of them have had favorite characters that they have loved and have wanted to write them into the present DC 52. Because of that. we will see some of those characters and possible titles re-emerge. Its to be expected though.

And hey, Not Marvel is finally doing it again as well, copying DC with the way they are going to re-invent their universe. It was only a matter of time before they got in on the act.

Yeah, I never thought that Marvel would follow in DC's footsteps, but it appears they are.

Not really sure how much 'reinventing' either company is doing.
The two 'multiverse shattering events!' are both retreads of events from a couple decades ago and most of the change is pretty minor. Few costume changes a couple team rosters altered.

It's the same guys at both companies, working on the same titles.
A few new series are getting try outs and couple writers switched series.
There's a new coat of paint on the car, but the same guys who crashed it before are still driving.

For all the talk, nobody is taking any risks or really tapping into the potential of these 'brand new universes."

Yeah, it's like every time they have these life changing events, they just eventually go back to status quo.

Which is so disappointing. Between Convergence and Multiversity, DC blew up the universe and announced 'Anything can happen!"

and Hal Jordan got a hoodie and Batman is now a mecha.
There are 4 Superman titles and they are all telling the same stories about the same version of Superman.

and marvel is only slightly better.

I'm trying to keep up with the DC comics by downloading them but I'm still way behind. But concerning the DCTV universe, the Flash will being slowing introducing the multiverse into the series. This is one of the best ways for a series to stay and remain fresh and current and for a long multi season life. The Flash is perfect for it. According to the producers, they have a grand scheme where introducing a multiverse is another way of introducing tons of other super heroes and villains without having t rely on the "collider" incident which in itself produced and is still producing other meta humans.
Looking forward tot he promise of a few other speedsters into the mix. I have always been a big fan of Jay Garrick/golden age Flash and Jesse Quick, Johnny Quick's daughter who inherited his speed powers.
The flash can introduce so many different things always keeping it fresh and accessible. And it can go over into the other titles as well if done right.
