Joshua Loong | 1 comments What other publishers/imprints are similar to NYRB Classics? Someone that finds out-of-print or backlist titles that are diamonds in the rough.

Interested to hear everyone's thoughts!

Lobstergirl | 127 comments Dalkey Archive Press comes to mind. I don't know if they publish new titles or how many relative to old out of print works, but I have definitely read some of their reissues of OOP novels.

Persephone Books and Virago Modern Classics both focus on rediscovering neglected women writers.

Don't be misled by the word "classics" - some of these are by very obscure authors (at least, for most American readers).
