What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Who is the author of this series? The main character is a British detective blinded in one eye in an accident. His father was a disgraced detective and the main character is trying to clear his name. The Detective's wife owns a restaurant and he has a daughter.

This author also wrote another series set in a England about a the editor of a small town paper who solves mysteries.

Thanks for responding. I found the answer. Jim Kelly is the author and the detective series is the Shaw and Valentine. The other series is Phillip Dryden. Both are terrific reads.
