For me this was one of those life-changing books... a highly-engaging account of one scientist's theory of how smell receptors work. This book will make you want to become a writer, a scientist, a perfume collector... Has anyone else here read it? The Emperor of Scent.

I haven't but will hopefullyI think smell is strongest affecting sense next 2 touch and probably more important 2 the species survival at 1 time than even sight.
2 books U might have already read r The Female Brain and Proust and the Squid which is about the history of reading and its brain science.
I read this book and had a similar reaction. It is a fantastic book, a science book that reads like a thriller and a love story. If more science books were written like this we'd have a much smarter world. Since reading this I have been tempted to get the authors book on perfumes themselves. Has anyone read that too?
