history: He was a young lord in the 1600s when he was seduced by a beautiful young woman. He didn't know what he was getting into, but after being lured back to her estate, she turned on him. She sucked him almost dry, and if she hadn't been attacked by the villagers she would've killed him. Three days later he woke up in a mass grave from all those killed in the attack, forever young, strong, and thirsty.

Kate R.F. Schroeder | 39 comments name: Roseros “Eros” Santanico
age: 34
gender (if applicable): male
looks: https://smooshkin.deviantart.com/art/...
history: Eros was born and raised in a world similar to the Spanish colonies of our world history. His kingdom sailed across oceans to claim new and valuable islands as their own, and after much war, succeeded. Eros has never seen the motherland, raised on the Isla De Estricta. It is the most profitable island but also one of the most dangerous. After almost rising up against the homeland, the Isle De Estricta has become overrun with rules, regulations, a strict social order, and many many continentales (mainlanders) sent by the government to enforce those rules. No one knows this, but Roseros played a large part in the uprising, but because of his high social class, was spared execution only to be blackmailed and disgraced by the allegedly honorable government inspector who keeps tabs on the island nobility and makes sure they follow the rules of their social class. In Eros’ caste, they are so many rules he can barely remember them all. The most important are those concerning husbands and wives. Every noble family on the Isla De Estricta lives in the same type of house: a castle-like tower in the center, connecting a long, ranch-styled home on either side. The men live on one side, the women on the other. The tower holds all the rooms that the husband and wife share: great room on the first floor, for entertaining; study on the second floor, for managing the household and finances; and bedroom on the third floor, for making heirs. They live their lives apart, only the husband and wife are allowed to fraternize within the household. If they go to market, servants can speak all they want. Brothers and sisters, however, will sometimes never meet before their respective weddings when they celebrate each other’s new lives. And if a husband or wife should break a rule, even if one hurts the other, they are executed together. After all, what brings a couple more together than dying together?

Eros is old enough that he was married and had a household before these rules were in place, but as the rebellion began and was promptly crushed, and the government inspector began tearing apart his home, he ordered his men to kill Roseros’ wife. He said that he would do the same to him, his parents, his siblings, and everyone he’d ever loved after exposing his involvement in the revolution and letting the lower class masses rip him to pieces if he did not do everything he said from now on. What was a man to do? Eros complied.

The first step was to find him a new wife, so he could become again an upstanding member of society. The story is that his previous wife died in childbirth, a very common occurrence. That way, Eros’ not-dying could be easily explained. He now lives with his new wife, who seems to want nothing to do with him and as of yet will not sleep in their bedroom (breaking rules already). But Eros is still heartbroken, and doesn’t mind. His wife’s sister also lives with them and sometimes she visits Eros in her sister’s place (also breaking rules), just to keep him company. He has yet to tell her all his secrets, but of course, a woman must be trustworthy. Right?

When the government inspector calls, Eros meets him alone by the stables. Neither speak until they have gotten on horses, rode out into the desert, and are far from civilization and any people. Eros tells him the latest news on any revolutionaries who escaped and the government inspector gives him new tasks and reminds him that his life and the lives of everyone he loves are at stake. Then the inspector makes a crude joke about making love to Eros’ wife and rides back toward the stable. Eros has never been able to figure out if the inspector is mocking his dead wife or insulting his new wife. In any case, he is numb and broken. Maybe his new wife could fix that, if she would ever speak to him. Or his new wife’s sister...
