Harry Dresden has faced some pretty terrifying foes during his career. Giant scorpions. Oversexed vampires. Psychotic werewolves. It comes with the territory when you're the only professional wizard in the Chicago-area phone book.

But in all Harry's years of supernatural sleuthing, he's never faced anything like this: The spirit world has gone postal. All over Chicago, ghosts are causing trouble - and not just of the door-slamming, boo-shouting variety. These ghosts are tormented, violent, and deadly. Someone - or something - is purposely stirring them up to wreak unearthly havoc. But why? And why do so many of the victims have ties to Harry? If Harry doesn't figure it out soon, he could wind up a ghost himself....

I'm going to start it right now and I hope to get some reading done today. I also hope to see less stupidity in this one! :)

Chapters 1-2 (view spoiler)[ Well, the ghost story is really sad and I'm feeling sorry for her, but all the mentions to Dresden's Godmother are confusing me. It was something from the first book that I've forgotten? Or it's something else? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 3 (view spoiler)[I feel sorry for Susan. She's not the best character ever, that's true, but I think I like her and a relationship with Dresden isn't a happy relationship! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4 (view spoiler)[Dresden got a lot of points for refusing the girl, but she's shady, a lot. (hide spoiler)]

Hahaha, is there less stupidity so far? I'm going to try and download the book today from the library, so hopefully I will be able to start on my drive home.

Surprisingly yes! It's not that Dresden become a brilliant one, mind me, but there really is less stupidity here, yay! I hope you get to read it soon! I have a train travel before me so I would go on with the reading, but I don't want to make hurry to you!!

I am super irritated with myself now. The audio is checked out on overdrive. :( I should have gotten it last night. Will check and see if they have CDs until it's available.

I added it over there for the 6th, even though we don't really know when we'll get back to it. :) That way we can use that as well, if we want.

I think I'm in chapter 4. (view spoiler)[A better start but I'm still not crazy about it. The introduction of Michael seems a little abrupt. (hide spoiler)]

Through chapter 7. (view spoiler)[Vampires, where did they come from? And Mister has been my favorite of the characters, so I hope he's alright. (hide spoiler)]

I'm somewhere in chapter 11. I'm going to try and push through, but not enjoying this ibe either. :/ I can't seem to connect with the characters or the story, really. I think it's the writing more than anything else. It just leaves me feeling detached. I do like Mister.

I'm nearly finished now and really not impressed. Some things are better than the previous book, but it still hasn't really captured me. This will be my last of the series.

I liked Mister a lot, too, and Dresden's Godmother was quite infuriating and scary. But now I have a lot of questions about his mother and no answers, it's annoying! I mean, it's ok to not have all the answers, but here we just have questions!!!
And yes, I wonder too how he survived for this long! I liked this book more than the second one, because all in all he's being less stupid than before, and I liked more this one also because in the second book there were a lot of things that weren't so related while in this one the story is more coherent.
I think I would read the next one, but I am not a huge fan of this series and I am in no hurry to continue it, sadly (hide spoiler)]
