If someone told me to describe the book in one word, I would say, without hesitating, "Mesmerising!" Why exactly? Because you are so captivated by the story of a young avian shapeshifter, Danica Shardae. She is the narrator of an incredible story full of challenges that pile on top of the other. I really recommend this to anybody who loves fantasy. Even though Amelia Atwater-Rhodes isn't very known, she is incredible in writing books, and her style is unique, but wonderful. You are hypnotised by the way it's written.
Many centuries ago, a war began between two clans, the serpiente and the avians, but nobody knows how it began or how it will end. What decision do the leaders of the clans have to take to end this war? This is the thrilling tale of the first novel in the Kiesha’ra series by Atwater-Rhodes. This captivating cliff-hanger is a great choice for adventure, fiction, and action lovers, mostly aimed for adolescents and young adults. The narrator of this story, the future leader of the avians tells her unusual life and the hard decisions she has to make.
The imagery is always very clear and the reader can always know what the author means. In every chapter, there is what certain people would call "life lessons", or as some other people would call morals. They are useful in daily life, but some are more important than others since many adolescents are living this event many times in their lives and don't know how to deal with these events, this is why teenagers should read this book. It's a very emotional book, not in a saddening way, but more in a pensive way. What I mean is that I pondered a lot on the words that each character said. I really recommend it to almost everybody, but not young kids since there are some concepts that they won't necessarily understand.
