Jeni and Leigh's Seasonal Read-Along '17 discussion

We shall be reading the short story collection throughout the month of December.

I finished this book within a day, not because I was rushing but because I was eager to find out the link between the stories. I won't give any spoilers though but I will say that this is a fantastic short story collection and I absolutely loved it.

Im so glad you have enjoyed the stories Jolene. I've had to collection on my shelf for a while. Following your comments, I'm looking forward to starting it. The blurb on the back makes my stomach fizz like a bottle of pop.

So far I’ve read the first two stories in the collection. So far, so good. I am enjoying how Joyce develops the characters in such a way that the audience feel empathic towards them. This is a skill I have to master within my own writing.

How is everyone else getting on? Have you read of these yet?

I've started reading it and realised that I've already read it but it was a while ago and I cant remember any of the stories!

I'm re-reading it, it's slowly coming back to me lol

Finished the book today and it did come back to me lol. Enjoyed it as much as the fist time round.

I have reached the last but one story in 'The Snow Garden' collection and I've noticed this one isn't included in the contents page. Naughty Doubleday!
