The prisoners are sorted into wards according to not only their crimes, but also according to the amount of security required to keep them contained and under control. They are all on different levels of the prison. Ward 1 and 2 are on the uppermost level, 4, along with the Warden's office, cafeteria and Head offices. Ward 2 is on level 3 same level as the guards quarters. Ward 3 is on level 2, the same level as the infirmary. Wards 4 and 5 have their own levels, 1 and ground level respectively. Ward 6 is underground and shares with the basement.
Ward 1 & 2
Ward 1 and 2 are the for the more docile prisoners. None of them have committed any crimes other that petty theft. Most remain simply because there is nowhere else to go.
Ward 3
Ward 3 houses those who have committed crimes against the government and some cases of rape and assault.
Ward 4
Ward 4 is for the murders and people who have the capability to take lives. Often separated from those inmates within Wards 1 & 2 and only have contact with inmates in Wards 3. Not outright dangerous, but dangerous in the fact that they have the potential to kill for their own gain.
Ward 5
Ward 5 houses those inmates who truly belong in high security prisons. They are the psychopathic murderers. They are not even in the same league as Ward 4 murderers. Ward 4 inmates have only killed once or twice for reasons they may or may not regret. But Ward 5 inmates are bigger threats; they kill for pleasure and excitement. They kill for entertainment. Because of this, they are isolated within their cells ant the only human contact they make is with their nurses and doctors for medication.
Ward 6
Ward 6 houses the inmates who are mentally unstable. They hade killed or snapped before and within the facility as well. It is these people who drift between Ward 6 and 5. Ward 5 is a regular Ward, but Ward 6 is a row of 1.5m x 1.5m isolation chambers within the basement of the building. The doctors claim it is to help them recover, but they know that often once an inmate is sent to Ward 6 they are usually never see or heard from again. Either they are sent on reconnaissance of the destroyed and radioactive earth. A suicide mission. Or driven insane by the white walls and isolation. A slow and gruelling death. Those who come back are the mentally strong. The ones who don't break under the prison's pressure.
