Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments The next time a LEGALIST tells you to "KEEP THE LAW" ... quote some of these verses!

I usually say... "Amen! Keep the Law... but keep it by God's DEFINITION! NOT YOURS! "

1 John 3:22-23

22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, BECAUSE WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS , and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

23 And THIS IS HIS COMMANDMENT, THAT WE SHOULD BELIEVE ON THE NAME OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST , and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
____________________________

John 6:28-29

28 Then said they unto him, WHAT SHALL WE DO , that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, THIS IS THE WORK OF GOD, THAT YE BELIEVE ON HIM whom he hath sent.
____________________________

Acts 16:30-31

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED ?

31 And they said, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED , and thy house.

Romans 4:4-5

4 Now to him that WORKETH is the reward NOT reckoned OF GRACE, BUT OF DEBT .

5 But to him that WORKETH NOT, BUT BELIEVETH ON HIM THAT JUSTIFIETH the ungodly, HIS FAITH is counted for righteousness.

Robert Core | 1864 comments Robert - that's pretty funny for a cultist. Now let's see what legalisms you believe. Obey the Bible literally or go to hell? Don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? Don't dance? Women should obey their man, especially his sexual requests to duplicate the filthiest hooker? Wear dresses down to the floor made of old Goodwill couch material? Don't wear makeup? Wear hair down to the waist, but always covered? Snake handling shows obedience to God? Driving out schizophrenia by beating on drums and chanting? Curing cancer by laying on of hands? And best of all - modifying the Great Commission to witness for Jesus into recruiting for your cult?

My response: You are PITIFUL. You MAKE UP your own god... according to your own brain... and you call me a cultist.

I presume you are looking in the mirror and writing about yourself.

message 4: by Robert (new)

Robert Core | 1864 comments Robert - the above are precisely what your Fundamental cult buddies believe? Why are you disassociating yourself from them?
Didn't you specifically tell me that I couldn't be with Jesus of the Gospel because I don't believe every jot and iota of Scripture? You love to quote the Bible - show me where it says that LITERALLY!

My response: ROFL!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

That is still HILARIOUS! You call me a CULT member... because I believe the Bible...

You believe whatever some VOICE IN YOUR HEAD tells you... and REJECT the Bible... but you are NOT a CULTIST????

Very Saul Alinsky of you... accuse others of what YOU ARE!

message 6: by Robert (new)

Robert Core | 1864 comments Robert - what happened to your endless supply of Bible quotes? Struggling to find that LITERAL response or run out of fresh ammunition?

message 7: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Do you guys really have love in your hearts? Is this your best attempts to out-love one another?
Hopefully non-Christians aren't looking into this group and... they probably are.

Chat about issues - but keep the personal attacks aimed at your own flaws.

Sorry Rod, but I LOVE people enough to tell them the TRUTH? Do you?

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Robert wrote: "Robert - what happened to your endless supply of Bible quotes? Struggling to find that LITERAL response or run out of fresh ammunition?"

Why bother? You just REJECT the Bible.

message 10: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Not if you can't do it lovingly without mocking and insults and character assassinations .

message 11: by Robert (new)

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Rod wrote: "Not if you can't do it lovingly without mocking and insults and character assassinations ."

I didn't think you loved people enough. You almost NEVER quote the Bible.

By the way, nice character assassination.

Alexandra Robert wrote: "Robert - the above are precisely what your Fundamental cult buddies believe? "

I asked you in another thread if you know what the fundamentals of Christianity are. You failed to answer. However, I got my answer here. Clearly you do not.

message 13: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Now that's a great discussion: what are the fundamentals of Christianity?

I'm guessing every denomination will have a slightly different core.

Me: if it's good enough for the thief on the cross - good enough for me. (But he said A LOT, as did Jesus)

Well, we know what Robert thinks they are:

* Obey the Bible literally or go to hell
* Don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol
* Don't dance
* Women should obey their man, especially his sexual requests to duplicate the filthiest hooker
* Wear dresses down to the floor made of old Goodwill couch material
* Don't wear makeup
* Wear hair down to the waist, but always covered
* Snake handling shows obedience to God
* Driving out schizophrenia by beating on drums and chanting
* Curing cancer by laying on of hands
* modifying the Great Commission to witness for Jesus into recruiting for your cult

LOL

Denominational differences aren't relevant to this issue, as the fundamentals are what are actually fundamental to Christianity.

Sure, there will be people who have differing opinions, but people's opinions don't alter what is fundamental.

I do see Robert is wildly off the mark. :D

message 15: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Indeed.
I've heard people say baptism, tongues, lord's supper, Jesus is your buddy, social issues, quoting the bible...

Catholic Church says "being catholic".

Some say worshipping on Saturday.

Maybe we do need to clarify.

message 16: by Robert (new)

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Rod wrote: "quoting the bible..."

63 times in the KJV New Testament, the phrase "IT IS WRITTEN" can be found. Jesus uses this phrase about 26 times. 3 times in self defense against satan.

I guess I am not seeing the problem with QUOTING Scripture to support one's position????

Quoting the Bible appears to place one in good company... Jesus did it!

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Wade wrote: "Amen, Bob"

Thanks Wade.

I definitely believe it is time to return to quoting the Word of God... rather than the opinions of men.

message 19: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Scripture is essential: but that doesn't make someone a Christian or guarantee their salvation. Satan quotes scripture as well.

But to love and embrace scripture as properly understood... that is the very foundation of our currently knowing truth. Since none of us are currently prophets or getting direct revealed revelations (far as I know).
You can quite scripture all day (I've watched atheists, Muslims, and liberals do it) but without the Holy Spirit - it will only lead to condemnation.

message 20: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Didn't the Pharisees love quoting scripture? Hmmm...

message 21: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle But I agree Robert: that is why I try NEVER to quote you.

message 22: by Robert (new)

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Rod wrote: "Scripture is essential: but that doesn't make someone a Christian or guarantee their salvation. Satan quotes scripture as well..."

My response: Yes, satan quoted Scripture to Jesus... and what did Jesus do?

QUOTED SCRIPTURE BACK!

message 23: by Robert (new)

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Rod wrote: "You can quite scripture all day (I've watched atheists, Muslims, and liberals do it) but without the Holy Spirit - it will only lead to condemnation..."

My response: So you fundamentally believe that the Bible is USELESS without the Holy Spirit?

Didn't the Holy Spirit write the Bible? Are His writings USELESS?

Just because satan and others abuse the Word of God... that does NOT DEVALUE the Word of God!

message 24: by Robert (new)

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Rod wrote: "Didn't the Pharisees love quoting scripture? Hmmm..."

Didn't Jesus LOVE QUOTING the Scriptures BACK to them?

The Pharisees quoted Scripture...
satan quoted Scripture...
Jesus quoted Scripture...

Rod almost NEVER quotes Scripture!

Hmmm.....

message 25: by Robert (new)

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Rod wrote: "But I agree Robert: that is why I try NEVER to quote you."

My response: NOT quoting me is NO problem at all...

...the FACT that you almost NEVER QUOTE the Bible... IS A PROBLEM!

message 26: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle 31 And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

There is much to learn from this Quote from Acts.

Why are you so hung up on this Robert? We don't simply throw Bibles at people. God wishes us to talk and share. With Love.

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Rod wrote: "Why are you so hung up on this Robert? We don't simply throw Bibles at people. God wishes us to talk and share. With Love..."

My response: I will discuss anything with any believer over and OPEN BIBLE... otherwise... we are just throwing OPINIONS at each other.

Give me the Word of God over OPINIONS any day!

message 28: by Robert (new)

Robert Core | 1864 comments Rod - well, now you're getting to the gist of this disagreement between the 2 Robert's. Robert D. is completely unwavering toward his assertion that the Bible is the only way in which searchers can attain Christianity. That is why I deem him a cultist. Robert D. claims that because Robert C, does not take the entire Bible literally, he cannot know Jesus even though Robert C. avows his servitude to the Lord and takes the Gospels literally. Is it any wonder the fur sometimes flies?

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Robert wrote: "Robert D. is completely unwavering toward his assertion that the Bible is the only way in which searchers can attain Christianity. That is why I deem him a cultist..."

My response: Yes... I AGREE with God... you think YOU ARE god.

Matthew 7:21

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

message 31: by Robert (new)

Robert Core | 1864 comments Robert - and who are you to say whether or not I do the will of God? Is he in your contact cell phone directory? Do you exchange e-mails with him regularly? I think you are so crazy that if I said I'm 100% sure our computers are powered by electricity with an electronic CPU for tasking, you'd contend that "no" electricity doesn't exist because it's not mentioned in the Bible and our computers are really powered by a hamster on a small treadmill with Cherubim and Seraphim for the brain work.

message 32: by Robert (new)

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 1605 comments Robert wrote: "Robert - and who are you to say whether or not I do the will of God? Is he in your contact cell phone directory? ..."

God makes it very clear in His Word, which you DESPISE and REJECT.

message 33: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle first we need a foundation of the will of God:

In the old days - we had prophets doing miracles. Then we had a savior doing miracles, then we had the disciples doing miracles... then they gave us a BOOK.

We have no more miracles with that authority --- yet we have THE BOOK. Just the content of it is a miracle (atheists can't even make sense of such a simple book, or a loving God).

If everyone could simply read the Bible (just words on a page) and agree about it -- then I'd toss it in the garbage and watch a Fast and Furious movie instead.
Thankfully people are still fighting and distorting this simple book. That's proof enough for now.
