I'm having trouble picking a Kindle First book this month. With the holidays coming up, some of the topics of the books offered this month seem a bit depressing. The Unkillable Kitty O'Kane looks a bit over the top, but I'm leaning towards that. Has anyone started on any of the titles yet?

Anne | 4 comments I haven't started any of the titles yet, but I have been curious about The Lost Prayers of Ricky Graves. Although there are only 15 reviews, they are all positive. I am concerned though, that since it is about a shooting, it will feel traumatic to read after the many tragic incidents recently. Alternatively, I am also interested in What Remains true. I always appreciate a good family drama. However, sometimes with Kindle firsts these can be formulaic. Thoughts?

I had the exact same thoughts about the subject matter. I went back and read more reviews of all of them and actually ended up selecting The Silver Music Box. I haven't started reading it yet, but will post when I do.

Ulrike (ulrikedg) | 24 comments I picked The Silver Music Box. I was also leaning toward Unkillable Kitty until I saw the author is male. Too many guys struggle writing female protag, and the reviews didn't give me any faith in this one.
